This one is from my personal collection. I use to heavily collect marksmanship related items, but have decided the thin the herd and refine the focus lately. Group includes the named Good Conduct Medal, Divisional Match Badge, and Marine Corps Match badge. The Good Conduct is officially engraved, however the shooting badges are now. Fortunately, the Marine hand-etched his initials on the rear of both, and’DWC’ can be seen. According to the Muster Rolls, this Marine was a trumpeter in the band who served at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Quantico, and I believe he metaled at Quantico in 1925. These early badges don’t appear often, and it’s even tougher to find attributed badges that weren’t engraved. Nice little research project… I can’t imagine many bandsmen were metaled in the matches! POLAND POLISH ORDER OF THE WHITE EAGLE, WWII made by Spinks for the Polish Government in Exile. It is the first issue made in 1944 during the reign of the last King of England. Please see the hallmark plate on the back of the star. On full sash ribbon. It is of superb quality unlike those made in the 1980s and 1990s. Of low quality and terrible enamels. Those were made during the reign of the current Queen and some do not even have the Spink logo and hallmarks. Collectors should know the difference between the production runs. Very good condition and guaranteed original WWII Italian Model 1933 helmet. Shell has original paint showing some wear and flaking, no dents. Complete with original leather liner and chinstrap. Liner is soft and supple with some normal wear, and is marked for size 59. Chinstrap is a little dry but pliable. A good example of a classic Italian M33 helmet for your collection. This is an outstanding example of a War-Time Historically Recorded Battlefield Pick-Up World War II Japanese Army Officer Sword mounted with an ancestral blade. The old antique Wakizashi blade wears a cutting edge of 20 3/8 inches in length. The blade does wear a visibly wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side however reflects cleanings from recent years and has a couple of nicks to the cutting edge, otherwise does remain in good condition. The tang wears one hole and is signed “Bishu Ju San Shiro”. The Sword wears Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts which all remain in very nice however there is a small glued repair to the wrapping. The Regulation scabbard remains very nice in its condition and is wonderfully hand painted with the recording of one of the hill battles of Iwo Jima along with the date March 26, 1945 and the name of the GI that brought it home.
