Just an incredible find. A rare USS Lexington original pre WWII photo album. Appears to have belonged to a Navy pilot on the Lexington. Filled with 225 photos. Album is not completely full. Also there is several pages of the pilots daily diary. The entries are dated 1930. There are some personal photos but most are military photos. Incredible images of old Boeing Navy warplanes, rare in flight photos, a sailor/pilot stunt riding his Harley Davidson on the runway, several great images of the Lexington as well as photos on board. Way too much to describe here. Not enough room for all photos on listing. Just a rare piece of Naval history. Will include as many photos as I can. The dagger and scabbard are in excellent condition. Scabbard has started to discolor mainly from the users gripping the scabbard to hold it while taking it out of the sheath, mainly from the oil in our skin over the years. Blade is in almost perfect condition and still has a mirror-like finish. Blade inscribed with “Everything for Germany” (in German of course). On the back side of the handle, “Wm” is stamped on the nickel finish. The blade has the maker’s mark of GEBR. GRAFRATH SOLINGEN at the top. It is a known, but rarer maker of these daggers. Total length with scabbard = 14.75. Dagger length = 13.50. Blade length = 8.75. Of course, we had to block out part of the inlay on the badge, but it is in perfect condition as well.
