Original 1920’s US Navy dress sword as shown. Original uncleaned condition from the family estate. Overall length in the scabbard is 33 5/8. The blade just under 28 long. Knight on one side of blade. Records show as Lt. Commander of the Navy Intelligence division, serving in (at least) the years of 1923 and 1924. Marked only “proved” without a maker’s name. The blade is unsharpened as a dress sword (the tip is sharp). The handle is a natural shark? Skin that has some wear and missing spots on one side at the guard. Otherwise excellent condition overall. This is an older strait blade police sword , with the Prussian dove head design. The maker marks are lightly been removed at one time. The leather scabbard is in above good condition , as is the German silver plating, on the throat of the scabbard, the d guard, the drag , and the dove head. This has initials on the frog as well as the name and the company of the person who captured it , but is hard to read. The blade is 25 1/4 inches long, and the scabbard has a stud to attach to the belt. If anyone knows what model or maker please past it on to me. This sword is 32 inches long, and has a slight dimple in the drag. The wooden grip is in above good condition , as is the blade, with the tinniest bit of rounding on the tip. The leather frog has some wear around the stud hole. The belt slide is strong, and the black leather scabbard in above good condition. Overall it is an honest original set that has that out of the attic look to it, not overly cleaned or restored. Hand guard heavily decorated with the royal Yugoslavian double-headed crowned eagle and the Serb-Croat-Slovene shields & laurel leaves. The saber is in very good condition, the blade has no defects at all, the handle is neat, with the lion’s head pommel firmly in place. Very minor chips to the handle’s black lacquer and superficial rust on the scabbard, as in 90% of the cases. This particular maker is seldom seen – Tiller D. This is a fabulous example of a Scottish Black Watch Royal Highlanders Officer Broadsword by Wilkinson that dons the Cypher of King George the Fifth. It is mounted with a large, impressively etched Henry Wilkinson blade that measures 32 3/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in superb original condition and is beautifully etched in the thistle pattern on either side as well as wears the serial number 58987 along the spine. The gorgeous half basket hilt is adorned with The Black Watch emblem and continues to wear its lovely red felt and blue fabric liner that accentuates the beautifully pierced metal work and the inside doe skin liner remains healthy and clean. The fishskin covered hilt also remains in very healthy condition and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. This Broadsword is mounted with its leather covered combat scabbard which remains very healthy as well reflecting only very minimal wear. Overall measuring 40 5/8 inches in length.
