Most helmets used by the National Police after the war came from German war booty and often had their original interior. These KNIL-helmets were manufactured (post-1941, pre-1945) in USA (Milwaukee Saddlery Company, Milsco) after the occupation of Holland by the Germans and was used against the Japanese in 1941. The helmet had been in use post-WW2 by the civil defense in the Netherlands. It still has its original KNIL liner, but one leather pad was replaced by a Dutch M27/38 type. The other 2 pads are missing the pouches to be filled for size adjustment. The chin strap is the M27/38 type (the KNIL chin strap was broader). So far all is original, the restoration consisted of adding a sun protection, refinishing in the original color, and refitting the original liner with new rivets. No Marks or signs. Dutch model 38R helmet as used in the Netherlands in may 1940 against the German invaders. In really excellent condition. This helmet was manufactured in the Netherlands in the 1930’s. The original 1930’s olive green paint nealy 100%. The heraldic Lion sign of the Kingdom of The Netherlands is original and never taken off. The original liner was added recently with new rivets. Stanced 38P in shell for steel plate P, used in 1938. All in all a wonderful addition to any helmet collection. See also my other advertisements. Dutch model 38R helmet as used in the Netherlands in may 1940 against the German invaders. In really excellent condition. This helmet was manufactured in the Netherlands in the 1930’s. The original 1930’s olive green paint is underneath. The yellow band on front of the shell shows its destination to rescue workers (the BB had also firefighters and medics). The chinstrap is in full length and not cracked. Liner felt pads are grey in color from origin. The heraldic Lion sign of the Kingdom of The Netherlands is original and never taken off. All in all a wonderful addition to any helmet collection. See also my other advertisements. Dieser Helm wurde in den 1930er Jahren in den Niederlanden hergestellt. Die originale olivgrüne Farbe aus den 1930er Jahren ist darunter. Das gelbe Band auf der Vorderseite der Schale zeigt Rettungskräften (das BB hatte auch Feuerwehrleute und Sanitäter) sein Ziel an. Der Kinnriemen ist in voller Länge und nicht gerissen. Liner-Filzpolster sind von der Ursprungsfarbe her grau. Das heraldische Löwenzeichen des Königreichs der Niederlande ist original und wurde nie entfernt. En vraiment excellent état. Ce casque a été fabriqué aux Pays-Bas dans les années 1930. La peinture vert olive originale des années 1930 est en dessous. La bande jaune sur le devant de l’obus indique sa destination aux secouristes (le BB avait aussi des pompiers et des infirmiers). La doublure en cuir rouge-marron et le couvercle de réglage de la nuque sont de modèle original et fabriqués de 1953 à 1955 pour le BB. La jugulaire est pleine longueur et non fissurée. Les coussinets en feutre de doublure sont de couleur grise d’origine. Le signe héraldique du Lion du Royaume des Pays-Bas est original et n’a jamais décollé. Dans l’ensemble, un merveilleux ajout à toute collection de casques. Voir aussi mes autres annonces. Sotto c’è la vernice verde oliva originale degli anni’30. La fascia gialla sulla parte anteriore del proiettile indica la sua destinazione ai soccorritori (il BB aveva anche vigili del fuoco e medici). Il sottogola è lungo e non screpolato. I feltrini della fodera sono di colore grigio dall’origine. Il segno araldico del Leone del Regno dei Paesi Bassi è originale e mai tolto.
