This is a Rare 1920’s Real Studio Photograph of Lt James “JImmy” Doolittle In original Wooden Frame. This photograph has been certified to be original. The frame shows some wear, but is original as well. The Photography studio was located in Rockville, IL. The photo measures 10″ X 13″ and Framed 12 1/2 X 16 1/2. This would make a great addition to any military collection.

Daugherty and issued by the United States Navy for recruiting purposes in 1931. For this poster Daughtery renders an image of a strapping Navy sailor standing on shore, holding a large American flag and starring ahead with resolute gaze under the bold title. This poster design was originally issued during the First World War in 1917 and is sometimes seen in variations with additional text printed at the bottom. This version here was issued in 1931 as indicated by the US Navy document code printed in the lower margin. Daugherty was born in Asheville, North Carolina and grew up mostly in the Washington D. Area where he studied at the Corcoran School of Art. This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed. This poster had some paper loss along the lower left edge and bottom edge confined to the margin not affecting the image area which was been expertly restored during the linen backing process. In the back ground is the grave of the orphan boys father with flowers on it and the Cross has a WW1 soldiers helmet hanging on it. At the bottom of the poster it shows President Calvin Coolidge as Honorary Chairman and James A. It is the First year of the American legion endowment fund and James A. Drain Served as Chairman of the American Legion that year and not after that. This Poster is Made of a stiff Cardboard and measures 22×14 inches in size. There is a 3 inch rip along the right side of it about where Uncle Sams knee is, it is taped on the back of this. There is also a 1 inch rip at the bottom of it — The bottom right corner shows a little extra wear — There is some light water staining — The poster is in pretty good shape for its age — I have taken plenty of pictures to try and show the details along with the condition.
