Parliamentary elections were held in Germany (including recently annexed Austria) on 10 April 1938. They were the final elections to the Reichstag during German Fascist political rule and took the form of a single-question referendum asking whether voters approved of a single list of Fascist and pro – Fascist guest candidates for the 814-member Reichstag as well as the recent annexation of Austria. Turnout in the election was officially 99.6% with 99.1% voting’yes’ in Germany and Austria. ONE OF THE ORIGINAL LIGHTLY USED BROADSIDES THAT WERE HANDED OUT IN GERMANY LEADING UP TO THE GERMAN PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS of 1938. THE TEXT OF THE BROADSIDE HIGHLIGHTS SOME POINTS THE WW2 GERMAN LEADER HAD DONE FOR THEM. Roughly translated from the Broadside. In 1918 you were promised bread. In 1932 there were around 7 million unemployed. In 1918 you were promised fair reward. In 1932, 21/5 million people lived openly on clear support. In 1918 you were promised a life of freedom, beauty and dignity. In 1932 your starvation was dictated by international finance capital, Germany with 27 billion RM. You lived in slums, the youth neglected without work and an orderly apprenticeship. National socialism is action. 1933 Beginning of the labor battle. Will immediately for job creation. Founding of the NS community’Strength through Joy. 1934 National Labor Order Law. Securing the job through protection against dismissal, protection of the honor of the worker, paid vacation. Care for the next generation of skilled workers through the Reich career competition. 1935 The number of unemployed has already risen by 5 million, more than 17 million RM spent on beautifying the workplaces, the number of marriage loans already exceeds 1/2 million. 1936 Since the takeover of power, 1 million homes have already been built. Overseas steamer for echelon tires of German workers in service. The German builders records around 6.2 million workers in 36,000 events in this year alone. 1937 Unemployment is eliminated. This is a passage from the struggle of the leader A. For the German worker. He wanted the worker to take part in the construction of the nation as an equal representative. WILHELM FRICK PHOTO POSTCARD RPPC. ON THE REVERSE: Echte Photographie. “Echte Photographie” translates as “real photographic picture”. It means this postcard was produced with photography not printed by a printing machine. 1946 was a prominent German politician during WW2 and the last Governor of the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Frick took part in the failed Beer Hall Putsch of 1923, for which he was convicted of high treason. He managed to avoid imprisonment and soon afterwards became a leading figure in the Reichstag. After the WW2 German leader became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, Frick joined the new government and was named Reich Minister of the Interior. Additionally, on 21 May 1935, Frick was named. Generalbevollma¨chtigter fu¨r die Reichsverwaltung. (General Plenipotentiary for the Reich Administration). He was instrumental in formulating laws that consolidated the new regime. , as well as laws that defined the racial policy, most notoriously the Nuremberg Laws. On 30 August 1939, immediately prior to the outbreak of the WW2, Frick was appointed by the WW2 German Leader on Council of Ministers for Defense of the Empire which operated as a war cabinet. Following the rise of the political elite forcess, Frick gradually lost favor within the political party of the time, and in 1943 he was replaced by the political elite forcess. Reichsführer of the Schutzstaffel. Frick remained in the cabinet as a minister without portfolio until the WW2 German Leader’s death on April 30, 1945. An original, 1895 Prussian Reserve Officer, Pioneer Battalion Helmet Plate. Very fine quality with silver gilt finish. There is modest wear on the contact points and a dark spot on the lower right side of the eagle. The eagle has mounting holes for a reserve cross but there is np evidence that one was ever mounted.
