Antique Pre-WW II – WW II, rare to find, German helmet industrial, hard wood mold template, made in Spain. Indent marked on base piece, in the center: “VAILESTIN MADRID”, (photos 2 & 3). Ink stamped number “7” on each piece. Indent numbers: “110”, “59”, and “57”. Other hand penciled numbers. Bottom portion has two steel posts. On the base of each piece, there are 3 drilled holes, (last 2 photos). 3, uniform spaced nail heads, on each side. Measures 10 1/4″L X 8 1/2″W X 6 3/4H. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era and is mounted with a blade by Kanenaga who was known for his fine, well made stainless steel blades. This lovely blade wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful original condition with only some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very tiny nicks along the cutting edge. The tang is signed with a signature that translates to Fujiwara Kanenaga Motte? Seitan saku kore and on the other side? Tasugi Shinichi (most likely the name for whom it was made). Kanenaga is also known as the originator of stainless steel blades. The beautiful nice quality Military fittings all remain in very nice, clean condition as well. The LIGHTWEIGHT textured wooden scabbard also remains near perfect in its condition with just a couple of very tiny chips to the finish. Overall measuring 39 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that is mounted with a nice, Seki arsenal blade. The blade has survived in near perfect condition and wears a cutting edge that measures 27 1/8 inches in length that features a lovely actively wavy temper line which extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears a showa stamp and is well signed which translates to “Sekiju Mori Toshiharu Sakku”. The hilt wrapping reflects age with light staining nevertheless does remain tightly in place and all the fittings also remain very nice in their condition. The metal scabbard has a couple of small battle dings, but does remain in very good serviceable condition and wears beautiful fittings as well. Overall measuring 40 inches in length. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a gorgeous well made grooved, unsigned blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 27 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains in near perfect original polished condition boasting its attractive actively wavy temper line. The fabulous large D-guard has now beautifully patined with age and frames a very nice white rayskin covered hilt that remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. The plated metal scabbard remains very nice as well with only some light flaking to the plating at the extreme drag edge and has no dings. Overall measuring 37 5/8 inches in length. Antique Pio Pion Portable Telegraph For The Italian Army. Antique portable telegraph in great condition with all its original component parts and pieces. This telegraph dates a little after World War I and was made in Italy by Officine Pio Pion, a cinema projector factory that produced telegraphic equipment for the Italian army. Mechanically the telegraph works fine, yet the electrical wiring has not been tested. The equipment includes the printer, the winding key and an ink loading, and is both a fascinating a historic piece. The complex mechanism is attached to a solid wooden base, probably mahogany, that can be closed in order to become a compact transportable case. Inside the case shows off a beautiful dark reddish color preserves the original satin finish. The telegraph stands on the base plank: it is a rectangular metal body with two paper reels on top. The mechanism is composed of many delicate metal gears and components, all of them greatly preserving and in working order. The telegraph includes adjustment pliers and an ink container. Attached to the top plank we can see a metal plate with the embossed manufacturing companys name, OFFICINE PIO PION MILANO. The inscription is also engraved in the telegraphs metal body. For its role in one of the great contents of the 20th century, this antique war telegraph deserves to shine in a museum or a complete collection of historic antiques. Measurements: Width: 23.6 in / 60 cm. Height: 15.3 in / 30 cm. Officine Pio Pion History Pio Pion was born in Varese, Italy in 1887. He was an entrepreneur who founded one of the first factories that produced industrial cinema machines and equipment in the country. His father, Pierre Pion, died at a premature age; Pio had to emigrate abroad where he could work and maintain his family. In the early 20th century, Pion comes back to Italy and shows interest for the young cinema industry together with his friend Fumagally he decides to import the first industrial cinema equipment, made by the French Pathé Frères. In 1908 they found Fumagally, Pion & C, a company to manufacture cinema projectors. The company survives until Pion is called up during World War I. When the content ends, Pion founds the Officine Pio Pion by himself to make cinema projectors again. The new company sympathizes with the fascist regime: Pion builds equipment to project propaganda films in Italian villages. With the outbreak of World War II, the Officine Pio Pion starts manufacturing telegraphs and Morse equipment for the army of Mussolini. After the content, the company resumed its former activity. Rare original Chinese medal, pre WW2. Includes the medal, a ribbon device (which is pin back with a metal backing) and the original cloth issue envelope. The medal and ribbon device are both stamped with number 7399. The envelope is stamped 7399. The medal measures approximately 1 3/4 across at the widest. The pin back ribbon device measures approximately 1 3/16 long and the envelope measures approximately 2 3/8 x 3 5/8. The ribbon shows soiling and the medal some age discoloration. The ribbon device has rust stains around the edge. Very usual to find all three numbered pieces together.
