Finland Finnish Silver Enamel Order of the White Rose Khight Cross. Made by Tillander Company 1920s – 1930s. One of three official orders in Finland, along with the Order of the Cross of Liberty, and the Order of the Lion of Finland. The Order of the White Rose of Finland was established by Gustaf Mannerheim on January 28, 1919. The name comes from the nine roses argent in the coat of arms of Finland. Size 40 x 40 mm. Vintage Meyrowitz Luxor No 6 Aviation/Motorsport Goggles with Original Tin Case. These goggles probably date from the 1920’s or 30’s, but I have seen some references that they were issued to WWI pilots. Y’all will probably know more about them than I do, anyway. Regardless, they are original and came from a family estate. The original tin/aluminum case is marked “Luxor Goggle No 6″ on top and E. Meyrowitz New York-Paris-London on the front of the top piece. I believe they are pretty neat and in very nice condition, but please condition and all pictures. These goggles are in very nice condition for their age. The lenses are not scratched and appear very clear. The cushions show a little wear, but are still well preserved. The tin, or aluminum case has some scratches but no dents. Offering a very COOL and RARE Antique Metal Sign advertising “HOO-DYE” Shock Absorbers! The pictures uploaded tell the story. It measures 19 1/2″ tall by 27 3/4″ wide. The larger letters are EMBOSSED! I believe I counted 8 small mounting holes. There is some surface rust & also various bends. I showed a picture of how it does not lay perfectly flat. It will hang on the wall just fine. I have only seen one other and with the age involved here, that is why I have used the word RARE. This is a rare example of a Japanese / Chosen (Korea) Hannin Level Official’s Sword that would have been carried by Japanese Officials assigned to the occupation Government. It is mounted with a machine made blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 25 3/4 inches in length and remains in nice condition with just some minor surface blemishes. The plain guard has also survived well and frames a beautiful white samé covered hilt with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The wooden scabbard remains very nice however shows to have been leather recovered at one time, however continues to wear all of its nicely coordinating brass fittings. A super nice medal group to a China Marine, consisting of a named number USMC Good Conduct Medal, a named 1937 Soochow Creek Medal, a named sterling silver I. Bracelet, a WWI wrist watch and a March 1995 copy of the OMSA’Medal Journal’ featuring a Soochow Creek Medal on the cover. The Soochow Creek Medal is the 1937 style, with the original ribbon & safety pin, probably pin self-engraved R. Schofield, nice condition with a nice dark patina. A sterling silver I. Bracelet, engraved Roger T. A WW I Bulova military issue wrist watch, in poor, not working condition, stamped on the back’U. A March 1995 copy of the Orders and Medals Society of America Journal featuring a Soochow Creek Medal on the cover, in excellent condition. I included a copy of page 15 from the Journal, illustrating F. Lucas’ 1937 medal in my photos. Bronze French art medal / plate , Rare original by : ALBERT POMMIER (1880 – 1943). Soldier of the First World War 1914 – 1918. Albert Pommier, born January 11, 1880 in Paris and died in the same city in 1943, is a French sculptor. Admirer of the work of Bernard Palissy, Albert Pommier studied drawing with the French painter Joseph Bail. He distanced himself from the School of Fine Arts, and decided to work at home to learn his trade. In 1905 he exhibited a series of statues at the Salon des artistes français. In 1914 Albert Pommier won the Abd-el-Tif Prize, which allowed him to be a boarder at Villa Abd-el-Tif, but could not benefit until the end of the First World War, after the demobilization. During the war, a stretcher-bearer in the 3rd Battalion, 11th Infantry, he wrote about the aspects of soldier’s life in the trenches. Original period – Good condition, no shock.
