RIBBON DRAPE TESTED UV NEGATIVE AS SHOWN IN PHOTO #12. The Haitian Campaign Medal was a military decoration of the United States Navy which was issued in the year 1917 and again in the year 1921. The decoration was intended for service members of both the Navy and Marine Corps who had participated in Haitian peacekeeping actions between the years of 1915 and 1920. The first period of service, for which the Haitian Campaign Medal was authorized, was from July 9 to December 6, 1915. The Haitian Campaign Medal was awarded to any member of the Navy or Marine Corps, who had served on active duty during the aforementioned dates, and was attached to the United States fleet of Rear Admiral William B. The Haitian Campaign Medal was authorized again in December 1921 and was presented to any member of the Navy or Marine Corps who had performed military operations in Haiti between the dates of April 1, 1919 and June 15, 1920. Due to the break in time service, between the two authorizations of the Haitian Campaign Medal, the decoration is commonly referenced as two separate decorations those being the First Haitian Campaign Medal and the Second Haitian Campaign Medal. The medal, itself, is different in appearance depending on which time period the award was authorized although the award ribbon is the same for both periods of award eligibility. For those who served in both time periods of the Haitian Campaign Medal, a campaign clasp is worn on the 1915 version of the medal with a service star worn on the award ribbon. This is a fabulous example of a Scottish Black Watch Royal Highlanders Officer Broadsword by Wilkinson that dons the Cypher of King George the Fifth. It is mounted with a large, impressively etched Henry Wilkinson blade that measures 32 3/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in superb original condition and is beautifully etched in the thistle pattern on either side as well as wears the serial number 58987 along the spine. The gorgeous half basket hilt is adorned with The Black Watch emblem and continues to wear its lovely red felt and blue fabric liner that accentuates the beautifully pierced metal work and the inside doe skin liner remains healthy and clean. The fishskin covered hilt also remains in very healthy condition and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. This Broadsword is mounted with its leather covered combat scabbard which remains very healthy as well reflecting only very minimal wear. Overall measuring 40 5/8 inches in length. One original spanish model 1893 mauser short rifle (carbine) or rifle complete bolt in 7mm mauser, bolt is complete with safety, extractor and all internal parts. Up for sale is a US Army Model 1936 Phillips Officer Cavalry Saddle. Condition is Very nice used condition. This saddle has been well taken care of. Leather soft and supple. Tree is good – no flex. Measurements:Seat 18, Gullet width 7. Channel width 3 in center 2 1/2 under cantle. C ouple things to mention given its age. First small flaw in the leather in the channel under the cantle (see pic). Does not affect anything but its there. Second would be a small split in the welting on the front of the saddle on the off side. Again, cosmetic and does not affect anything. T he saddle includes irons and leathers, but stirrups are vintage sterling English ones not the offset RIA issued ones. Leathers could original but they have no arsenal markings. It is missing the QM Depit brass plate but its data still partially embossed on the leather. Overall a very nice saddle. Very comfortable and was designed to ridden in a forward seat position. Seat is original hog hide with the rest original genuine leather. Billets very good but no girth provided. Overall a very nice collectible to ride and enjoy or for display.
