Coming out of my collection is this Officers Sam Brown sword belt with the double shoulder straps. This configuration with 2 straps is reasonably scarce as original. It is in excellent and complete condition for it’s near 100 year age and has a near perfect color match for all parts. The belt, sword hanger leather slide, holster slide and. 45 magazine pouch are all marked and dated as follows — Q. 1922 and inspected on all H. 45 pistol Holster is not marked. Unusual to find all with a date and inspector match. The nickel sword hanger in great shape, is unmarked and has the knurled locking ring on the clip. To me the type of lock and clip on the hanger would indicate U. Made and better quality than the French import hangers that are normally seen. All stitching is strong. Some lite crazing on shoulder strap attachment ends but nothing serious. The item “U. S. Army 1920’s 2 Shoulder Strap Sam Brown Sword Belt, Complete Service Rig, Ex” is in sale since Sunday, March 21, 2021. British Royal Engineers Edward the 8th Officers Sword with Scabbard. The guard has been removed at one time and silver plated which really makes it stand out. The handle is shark skin with a wire wrap. The scabbard is brown leather with extra brown leather added at the bottom for I assume a repair at one time but this doesnt really detract. The blade is made by Anderson in Edinborough and has the Royal Engineers symbol on one side and Edward the 8th on the other. The blade has some oxidation down near the tip which could be restored with a little bit of work. Some grey spots also show on the blade here and there. A short lived monarch so these dont turn up very often. The item “British Royal Engineers Edward the 8th Officers Sword with Scabbard” is in sale since Tuesday, May 11, 2021. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\1919-38\Original Period Items”. The seller is “military*antiques*toronto” and is located in North York, Ontario. This is a documented and a very nice example of a Scottish Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Infantry Officer Basket Hilt Broadsword that dates from the World War II Era. Murray of the G & S Highlanders according to its Wilkinson records. The lovely grooved etched blade measures 32 5/8 inches in length by 1 inch at the widest. The blade remains in extremely nice condition with only minor surface staining and continues to wear all of its gorgeous etching on either side. The basket hilt has also survived well however has some flaking to the plating with minor surface oxidation. The beautiful basket hilt liner has lost a small bit of its red covering, otherwise remains very healthy as well with the doeskin inner liner very nice and clean. The red cap tassel remains very nice and frames a wonderful fishskin covered hilt that is very healthy in its condition and with its twisted wire wrap still securely in place. The combat leather scabbard also remains very healthy with only flaking to the plating of the base fitting. Overall measuring 40 1/2 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
