The M26 helmet was made at the “National Arsenal of Artillery” in Trubia, this helmet is commonly referred to as a “Con ala” which translates to “With Wings” due to its flared sides, it was distributed in 1930 and was a common sight on the battlefields during the Spanish Civil War. These along with other helmets in service with the Spanish Army were all withdrawn in 1943 and refurbished, they had a coating of a light green paint and frontal brackets to hold the new “Franco” badges, most of the older M26’s etc had the liners replaced too. However this one still retains the original 3-piece liner in good condition. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era and is mounted with a blade by Kanenaga who was known for his fine, well made stainless steel blades. This lovely blade wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful original condition with only some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very tiny nicks along the cutting edge. The tang is signed with a signature that translates to Fujiwara Kanenaga Motte? Seitan saku kore and on the other side? Tasugi Shinichi (most likely the name for whom it was made). Kanenaga is also known as the originator of stainless steel blades. The beautiful nice quality Military fittings all remain in very nice, clean condition as well. The LIGHTWEIGHT textured wooden scabbard also remains near perfect in its condition with just a couple of very tiny chips to the finish. Overall measuring 39 inches in length. Vintage Swiss Army pack mule saddle, used but in excellent condition. A great find, these are complete and fully functional, with a steel frame to support a large amount of weight, and thick, full grain rugged leather shell over a canvas padded lining. All canvas and leather tie down strapping included, as well as the belly band and attachment straps. The side frames and top frame are removable. The pads measure 21″x17″x2, each side frame measures approx. 28″x24″, and the total width of side frame to side frame is 51. Great guide/outfitter pack frame made of quality leather and steel…..
