Era: 1930s (Interwar Period). Type: Men’s Riding Breeches / Jodhpurs. Material: Brown twill cotton (visual texture resembles heavy Bedford cord/corduroy) with brown suede leather knee patches. Size: US Waist 34. All buttons and pockets present. Interior label reads: Breaking test-100 lb. Guaranteed for length of garment. Description: An authentic pair of vintage 1930s riding breeches featuring durable construction suitable for steeplechase or hunting. These jodhpurs are designed with a classic flared hip and tapered calf with button closures. The knees are reinforced with brown suede leather pads. A rare survivor from the 1930s era.

VERY EARLY PRE-WW2 GERMAN REICH LABOUR SERVICE MEMBER POSES IN RAD UNIFORM WITH HIS. RAD HAT, RAD BELT BUCKLE, RAD TABS. ID’d ON THE REVERSE. RAD was a major paramilitary organization established in National Socialist Germany as an agency to help mitigate the effects of unemployment on the German economy, militarize the workforce and indoctrinate it with their ideology. It was the official state labour service, divided into separate sections for men and women. On 11 July 1934, the NSAD was renamed. Or RAD until the end of World War 2. From June 1935 onward, men aged between 18 and 25 may have served six months before their military service. During World War 2, compulsory service also included young women, and the RAD developed to an auxiliary formation which provided support for the Wehrmacht armed forces.
