1924 West Point Academy Class Ring, Bailey Banks & Biddle. 14k Yellow Gold, Weighs over 9 grams & is Size 6 1/2 Condition is Used. Considered to be the nation’s oldest jewelry company, BB&B started life in 1832, pre-dating more famous Art Deco jewelry designers such as Tiffany and Cartier by several years. By the late 1860’s, this firm was considered to be the finest jewelry maker in America and the company is indelibly linked with the American military, producing many medals, swords for prominent Union commanders during the civil war and even the proposed currency for the envisaged Confederacy-led nation during the same period. Where Tiffany & Co. The link to the White House was settled forever when BB&B were asked to do a design for the Great Seal of the United States, a design which is still in use today. The Bailey, Banks and Biddle name is still renowned among famous Art Deco jewelry designers. Their status within the ranks of the military for their designs on medals is unparalleled. Sadly, as time has progressed, the original BB&B company eventually dissolved. Having changed hands several times in the early 21st century, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2009. Interestingly, both BB&B and Tiffany lay claim to being the ones who introduced the 925 Sterling Silver to the US, bringing silver quality in line with the British standard that was used in the rest of the world. This is a vintage 1930s era US Army wool mackinaw. The mackinaw is in DISTRESSED vintage condition. The wool is reasonably crisp and looks clean (no stains) but there is significant moth damage in a number of areas. Very wearable (and very rare), great size, but with damage as noted. PLEASE NOTE a number of spots on the back – see photos! The inside tag is mostly not legible, it looks like the size is 3-something, 36 or 38? Really not sure so PLEASE USE THE MEASUREMENTS as a gauge of fit. Following is the measured size of this garment. Chest is measured from armpit seam to armpit seam. Shoulders are measured from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. Length is measured from the bottom of the collar to the bottom of the garment (including waistbands). Sleeve is measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve (including cuffs). Pants waist is measured unstretched across the top of the garment from side to side. Inseam is measured from the crotch down the inseam to the bottom of the pant leg (including any cuff). Your satisfaction is our priority. Rare Vintage 1933 US Coast Guard Academy Ring – 14k White Gold Black Jade. The gold design is worn down in many areas, from use. Please see all photos! The jade set in the center does have a couple of pit marks. This ring does have a personal engraving on the inside of the band W. David This ring came out of a Seattle Estate. This ring is a size 5.5, and weighs approximately 9.4 grams. The glass measures approximately 6.9 mm Long by 4.7 mm Wide. This ring is stamped 14k on the inside of the band with a makers mark, but its very worn and I can’t make it out. Overall the ring is in good condition! Manufactured by the A. From 1928 to 1932. Style 402, Size 38 long. S ee scans for condition. NOT A MILITARY ITEM, BUT IS EARLY AVIATION ITEM, used by many WW1 aviators when barnstorming. A nice item considering the age, see the description details above – see scans. Great subject matter and eye appeal. Weighs around 11 pounds. Shows some typical wear & discoloration due to age, some staining due to age and use. Overall in nice condition, all is intact — camera doesn’t do justice to the rich leather color. Has the original Talon zippers, all work fine. Includes all the original buttons. Also Includes the original belt and full silk pile lining. Some cracking in leather, especially at the lower sleeves (see close-up scans #11 left sleeve and #12 right sleeve). Leather at bottom of pant legs has cracking also. This vintage leather flight suit was made by A. Aviation Clothing (see intact tag picture inside left chest area), between 1928 and 1932. It has a mouton collar, an offset closure, belted waist, large map pocket with sharply scalloped pocket flap, thigh pockets and a full silk pile lining. It is a size 38, and is their model 402. The suit has the original Talon Fastener Co. The zips are on the sleeves, legs, the chest and on two pass through pockets so the aviator could access his pants pockets. The fly opening is accomplished by a snap on the zipper tape. The large collar has a hook closure at the neck and a three button throat latch under the collar, to really secure it during open cockpit flight. While not his suit, Charles Lindbergh was a prominent endorser of Spaldings flight suits of this era. We strive for 5-star service , even though this is just a hobby for us.
