Don’t know the exact details but the sheath shows RICH. HERDER 1938 on one side. The other side shows 149 C. Knife shows 8730 on one side and 41 cof on the other side. Great condition for it age. Button works and is spring loaded. Knife has been sharpened and or used. Wood handle is in good condition also. I believe it’s walnut. Not sure if it WW1 or WW2. This is an older strait blade police sword , with the Prussian dove head design. The maker marks are lightly been removed at one time. The leather scabbard is in above good condition , as is the German silver plating, on the throat of the scabbard, the d guard, the drag , and the dove head. This has initials on the frog as well as the name and the company of the person who captured it , but is hard to read. The blade is 25 1/4 inches long, and the scabbard has a stud to attach to the belt. If anyone knows what model or maker please past it on to me. This sword is 32 inches long, and has a slight dimple in the drag. The wooden grip is in above good condition , as is the blade, with the tinniest bit of rounding on the tip. The leather frog has some wear around the stud hole. The belt slide is strong, and the black leather scabbard in above good condition. Overall it is an honest original set that has that out of the attic look to it, not overly cleaned or restored. Pre-WWII German Hunting Shooting Dagger, Hirschfanger Double Engraved w Scabbard. Blade is unmarked but features etched hunting scenes on both sides. Item is used and has signs of wear. There are some scratches and scuffs on the hardware. Blade has a few areas with some light patina. Blade is sturdy and straight. Blade edge is not sharp. The bone handle is free of any chips or cracks. There is some damage around the edges of the acorn ornaments on the handle. Handle is secure and not loose. The decorative guard is loose. Scabbard brass has some scuffs and patina. The leather is in fair visual condition, but is dried out and the sewing is deteriorated on the back. Includes only items pictured. A Very Unique Mannlicher Carbine Model 95 NCO Bayonet. The NCO Bayonet has the ring hole in the steel handle – much rarer Bayonet Type – see pictures # 5 and #6. This is a rare and very desirable marked M95 Manlicher Bayonet Set from my personal collection. The blade has the CEWG code on the Blade – Picture # 3 – on the other side is the Double Headed Imperial Eagle – picture # 4 – Scabbard has Imperial Double headed Eagle on the Metal tad and CEWG Code. Of the side- -see picture #3. This Bayonet is a very desirable and hard to find Historic Collectable- , but with the unusual marks AND BEING AN NCO MODEL – it puts it in a class by itself – it is much more desirable. IT IS MATCHING BY CODE CEWG AND DOUBLE HEADED EAGLE. Faint eagle marking on bayonet frog and CEWG ON Blade. Research could really pay off on this Bayonet Set. Scabbard has typical dents and scratches of a Genuine Bayonet set that is is over 100 years old and been through two wars – judge by your standards. I think you will appreciate this Bayonet Set. The M95 Mannlicher Carbines were substitute standard for WW11 German Police and support troops during WWII – these bayonets were issued with them. Please see pictures to judge this Bayonet. For a Bayonet that is probably 100 year old – it would be hard to find a nicer one. Would make a Great Display item for a collector. Button on the catch works fine. Again – Please see pictures to appreciate and properly evaluate this bayonet. These bayonets and scabbards were re-conditoned prior to WWII for the German and Austrian Armies using M95 Mannlicher Carbines as substitute Standard. The metal frog hook on the metal scabbards were re-inforced. By brass brazing at the arsenal and then simply painted over the braze with black paint – usually after all their use some of the brass is showing – I prefer to leave orginal, but it would be easy for owners to spot paint again. The Rifles and Bayonets were substitute standard for German Army support troops during WWII and also issued to German Military Police. Note: The blade has not been sharpened since leaving the Gov’t Arsenal. Bayonet buttons for attaching to rifles are always checked and work fine! This Bayonet is for the Model 1895 Mauser Mannlicher Carbine, not the WW 11 K98K Mauser Rifle. GENUINE AND VERY DESIRABLE OLDER MILITARY COLLECTABLE AT A FAIR AND REASONABLE PRICE.
