This is a very nice example of a Large Variation of a Japanese Cavalry Officer’s Sword, Type 19 which would have been in service all the way up to World War II. It is mounted with a plated machine made large blade that measures 34 3/8 inches in length by 1 1/16 inches at the widest. The blade remains in nice condition with some minor surface blemishes. It wears a very nicely detailed pommel which frames a lovely horn hilt that although only a portion of the twisted wire remains, has survived in very healthy condition. The hilt also features a lovely floral motif and is accentuated with a beautiful silver family mon on the backstrap. The metal plated scabbard has some light flaking, particularly where it was hand carried, but does remain in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 42 5/8 inches in length. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a gorgeous well made grooved, unsigned blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 27 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains in near perfect original polished condition boasting its attractive actively wavy temper line. The fabulous large D-guard has now beautifully patined with age and frames a very nice white rayskin covered hilt that remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. The plated metal scabbard remains very nice as well with only some light flaking to the plating at the extreme drag edge and has no dings. Overall measuring 37 5/8 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a short Japanese Army Officer Sword which dates from the Showa Era and is in Civilian Mount. It is mounted with a well-made arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge of 21 1/2 inches and from tip to tip it measures 29 1/8 inches in length. The blade boasts a lovely straight temper line which extends to the tip on both sides and remains in beautiful original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. The tang wears a Showa stamp and is signed ” Fukumoto KANEMUNE “. It wears gorgeous matching menuki and simple but very nice fuchi kashira that all remain in very nice condition as well. This is a nice example of a beautifully well made Japanese Army Officer’s Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a Gendai handfordged blade which wears a cutting edge that measures 25 5/8 inches in length which boasts a gorgeous actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade has survived in very nice condition with only some minor surface blemishes and very light oxidation spots at the extreme tip. The tang is signed which translates to ” Noshu Seki Junin Kanemitsu “. All the fittings remain in very nice, clean condition as well and with the original brown and blue Officers tassel still present. The metal scabbard also remains very nice in its condition. This is a good example of a War-Time Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely, unmarked, oil-tempered blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 24 1/4 inches in length. The blade is uncleaned, untouched in its condition with a light surface oxidation now developed which could be cleaned up in the right hands, and does continue to wear it beautiful, wide actively wavy temper line. All the fittings including the wrapping remain very nice and are wonderfully accentuated with fabulous golden civilian lobster menuki on either side. The War-Time wooden scabbard wears a leather combat covering that although is a bit weathered with some of the stitching now loose, does remain in good serviceable condition. This is a fabulous example of a Chinese Nationalist General Army Officer Sword which dates from the early 20th Century, and is very rare and seldom ever found in any condition. It is mounted with an INSIGNIFICANT blade that measures 29 inches in length that although has a bit of flaking to its plating, does remain in good condition. The impressive gilded guard is intricately detailed with high relief and engravings and has survived in very nice condition, continuing to wear most of its bright gold wash. The faux shell hilt also remains very nice with just one small chip near the pommel nevertheless does remain tightly in place and with all the twisted wire wrap still nicely secure. The plated metal scabbard is lightly scuffed however all the beautiful gilded fittings remain bright and nice in their condition and include the presentation which is engraved along the top edge of the top fitting. It is mounted with a beautiful plain blade that measures 11 3/16 inches in length which remains in nice condition with only minor surface blemishes. The hilt wears a wonderfully detailed elephant head pommel that frames a samé covered hilt which remains very nice in its condition as well and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place.
