This Antique Naval Transit is off the destroyer USN Tarbell. Note open-mount four-inch guns (only the forward one being fitted with a shield), the 3/23 antiaircraft gun just aft of mount one, banks of torpedo tubes (two three-tube mounts per side), and unshaded number 142 at her bow. The four-story Keuffel and Esser Manufacturing Complex in Hoboken, New Jersey, was completed four years later. [2] K&E was incorporated in 1889. From 1889 until World War II, K&E employed “Spider Lady” Mary Pfeiffer to manage a “spider ranch” for the firm. It produced strands of spider web used in making crosshairs for telescopic sights. In 1892, the company commissioned the architecture firm of De Lomos & Cordes to build a showroom and offices at 127 Fulton Street in Manhattan. [3] The firm designed an eight-story brick and terracotta building in the Renaissance Revival style. The building was completed in 1893, and the company occupied it until 1961. It was designated a New York City landmark in 2005. In the first decade of the 20th century, Keuffel and Esser introduced a new line of surveying instruments based on the work of John Paoli, an Italian immigrant in Hoboken. A new Keuffel and Esser Manufacturing Complex was built in 1906, after the previous building was destroyed by fire. [2] The building was converted to housing in 1975 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 12, 1985. K&E acquired instrument maker Young & Sons of Philadelphia in 1918 and made it a department of the firm, retaining the brand name for a time. The instrument is in excellent condition, missing lens cap. The wooden box is wholly intact but it does have some issues. It is missing the key, missing name tag, missing 1 original screw on latch hook. It is missing plumb Bob, missing compass. It has all the points. The points pouch attached inside the door the snap came apart I have the parts.

Vintage 1930s sterling silver military award presented to B. Brantigan in the early 1930s. Inscription on medal reads Presented annually by direction of the President of the United States to the most efficient vessel in her class in naval engineering. Medal is a miniature version of the much larger plaque awarded to the vessel as a trophy, most likely made just for the crew. A previous naval engineering trophy was attributed to Henry Reuterdahl in design, and another to Bailey Banks and Biddle as the maker. Box appears to have been made especially for the medal as the submarine vessel was docked in Shanghai during that period Other than that I had a hard time researching this naval trophy so feel free to message me if you have any insight. Hallmarks: Reverse side is stamped “Sterling” and the engraving reads U. ” Box is marked “Nose Dragon & Co. 2262 Boone Road, Shanghai. Dimensions: Length With Bale 1 3/8″ x Width 1 3/8″. Box Length 2 1/4″ x Width 2 1/4″ x Height 7/8. Weight: Pendant 18.75 grams. With Box 39.26 grams. Condition: Very good vintage condition with light wear and minor tarnish to silver. Lucky Bag 1932 United States Naval Class Book Year Log 1932. For this Book to be 91 years old it is in great condition. I bought this at an estate sale so i don’t know a whole lot about it, but I thought it might mean the world to someone else out there. The pages are all intact, no rips or tears. There is a slight wave on the bottom corners, may at one point had a little something spilled, or rained on.. I did list photos of the area i’m talking about, it’s the last 2 photos listed. It is quite a heavy book. I hope this book makes it to that one person it was meant to be with :.
