This is a good example of a Japanese Steel Helmet which dates from the World War II Era. It has survived in well used condition nevertheless is still wearing its very nice front star. Antique Pre-WW II – WW II, rare to find, German helmet industrial, hard wood mold template, made in Spain. Indent marked on base piece, in the center: “VAILESTIN MADRID”, (photos 2 & 3). Ink stamped number “7” on each piece. Indent numbers: “110”, “59”, and “57”. Other hand penciled numbers. Bottom portion has two steel posts. On the base of each piece, there are 3 drilled holes, (last 2 photos). 3, uniform spaced nail heads, on each side. Measures 10 1/4″L X 8 1/2″W X 6 3/4H. Pre WWII Polish wz. Here is a wz. 31 helmet that has been in my collection for a number of years. The helmet is an original pot with original liner and chinstrap. At one time this helmet was painted black on the outside and the inside rim – as can be evidenced by remnants of black paint on the liner. Someone has removed the black paint and repainted it green with a close resemblance to the original color. Whoever did this was very careful not to damage the inside markings or the liner/chinstrap. An attempt was made to recreate the original salamandra finish, but it is lacking its original appearance. The inside of the helmet behind the liner still has its original paint stamping bearing Ludwikow 98 37. It also has its K2 ink stamp and its copper control rivet with K2 acceptance stamp. The liner has a K2 stamp and all 3 pads in place. I believe them to be original as they seem to be filled with a coarse animal hair. The leather is in great shape for its age without dry rot, but I would not consider it soft/supple. These helmets are very scarce, especially with intact leather component and markings. It is a wonderful representative piece, that will add to any helmet collection. Please let me know if you have any questions. For sale is an all original Adrian Helmet used by the Communist Republican Forces in the Spanish Civil War. The helmet overall is in very good condition, showing definite evidence of field battle use. There are two prominent dents in the top left of the helmet, no doubt caused by flying debris. The helmet has much of the original olive drab green paint, as well as the original red star in the front. Above the red star are remnants of a black circled divisional symbol. The inside of the helmet has the proper 4 tab attachment system for the liner. Also included is an original five tongued helmet liner that is in much better shape than the helmet. The helmet liner is unattached to the helmet. This is an incredibly rare helmet, as very few survived, and originals rarely if ever come to market. BRAZIL PAULISTA REVOLUTION HELMET. This is one version of 3 versions of a 1932 Brazilian Civil War Paulistas Steel Helmet manufactured in Brazil. Using the design of the French M-15 Helmet and modified to suit the Brazilian Paulistas needs. The main difference is the way the helmet shell is pressed out of one piece of steel instead of being put together from three pieces as the French Helmet was and the other is the air vent on the top of the helmet shell. This version of the Paulistas helmet has an air vent which is pressed into the top of the helmet shell and holes drilled around the protrusion. The second version of this helmet uses the French system where the air vent on the top of the shell is covered by a comb however the comb on the Paulistas helmet is very small compared to the French helmet. This helmet shell is with the original painting. There is no liner or chin-strap. Overall, this helmet shell is in good condition for it’s age and whatever use it may have had in my opinion.
