ANTIQUE (PRE WWII) USMC H & H OFFICER’s DRESS UNIFORM CAP DEVICE (EGA). This is the Marine Corps Officer’s dress cap device (EGA) used from 1919 to 1937. It was made by Hilborn-Hamburger (H & H), and as shown by the photos is in excellent condition. Although difficult to see in the photos, it is stamped with the H&H logo on the back of the eagle’s wing and what appears to be “1/20K ON/STERLING” on the cross piece of the anchor. Circa 1920’s Full Dress General Officer’s Visor Cap. There is very detailed bullion work around the band. Not sure who the maker is, size is about a 7 – 7-1/4. In good condition; the sweatband is worn, stained and is missing stitching about half-way around. The bullion vein work design is largely gone, but still has a great look. 1928 US Naval officers formal dinner dress uniform. The jacket measures 16 inches shoulder to shoulder, 18 inches armpit to armpit, 25 inches shoulder to cuff and 39 inches long. The pants measure to a size 30 inch waist. Both the jacket and pants have the same name on the tags, both also have some moth damage in spots and the jacket is missing a few buttons. These are a pair of original WWI era US Navy Lieutenant junior grade line officer formal dress epaulettes. Extremely difficult to find. At that time, ensigns didn’t wear bars. In the 1922 regs, the corps was placed up on the strap. Approximately 7 inches long. They have been stored for years and show some age-related darkening. Excellent addition to your collection! This is one of the earliest patterns of large production officer emblems, with the pattern being introduced around 1912 and worn through the 1930s. This particular emblem is most likely 1920s-30s, as it sports a c-clasp and machine etched fret work. This pattern is often associated with the firm of Gems on, however this particular model is unmarked. Worn on the collar of the officer dress blues, as well as the shoulder epaulettes of the mess dress uniform. I will be listed several pieces from Mr. Snyder’s collection in the coming days/weeks. Original 1920’s US Navy dress sword as shown. Original uncleaned condition from the family estate. Overall length in the scabbard is 33 5/8. The blade just under 28 long. Knight on one side of blade. Records show as Lt. Commander of the Navy Intelligence division, serving in (at least) the years of 1923 and 1924. Marked only “proved” without a maker’s name. The blade is unsharpened as a dress sword (the tip is sharp). The handle is a natural shark? Skin that has some wear and missing spots on one side at the guard. Otherwise excellent condition overall.
