Very nice original 1937 dated German enlisted overcoat missing only the shoulder boards. Great shape for its age, most wear on the cuff edges, slight fading of color on the inner collar area. Has all buttons and hooks as seen. Ribbon still attached but loose on one end. Classic overcoat used but great shape. Most would be altered or destroyed during the war. This one appear is rare shape for early war impression. Cannot sell this to most countries that bar this from entering, sorry. Laws are too confusing and vague. There are no offensive symbols on the overcoat. I offer 3 day inspection n period with all my items. Gun Model: Springfield 1903 or M1 Garand (later used in WWII). The left ricasso is marked with “S A”, bomb, and “1921”. The right side is marked U. The Scabbard is marked “RIA / 1921″ on the front of the top strap and “RIA”, what appears to be “1909” and T. On the back of the main body. Description: This is a Pattern M1905 that was made in 1921, after WWI, with a 1921 dated Rock Island Armory leather wrapped and leather tipped wood scabbard. The blade measures 15 7/8″ long, OAL is 20 1/2″. Overall Condition: The metal of the bayonet has a blue finish on the blade, the guard, hilt and pommel are parkerized and according to our research, these early items would have been all Parkerized. The blade metal has been refinished, the other surfaces appear original, it was probably done by an arsenal, perhaps for WWII use. The metal shows cleaned erosion and imperfections under the finish, along with a few areas of erosion through the current finish. The blade is semi-sharp but there are no indications that it was sharpened after refinishing; the cutting edge has some waiver in its line. The surfaces show scattered scuff marks and a few infrequent darkened patina areas. The cross guard has scuffs, rub wear and areas of patina. The grips are the correct later semi-grooved type, which show a few light marks. There are no cracks or major damages. The bayonet is in Fine condition. The scabbard is leather wrapped with a brown leather tip and brass hanger, the canvas and leather are roughed and discolored, the material remains strong with small losses, the hanger has natural patina, also found as verdigris on the rivets. The leather is leaching white color, as natural of the fats escaping over time. For its age and role in world history, this lot has survived quite well. This is an example of a well made Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that due to wear and abuse would make a good candidate for restoration. It is mounted with a gendai blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/8 inches in length. The blade shows to have been abused and scratched but could be polished in the right hands. The tang wears the signature ” Yoshinaga saku” on one side and a date “Showa juhachinen ju gatsu” that translates to “1943, October” on the other side. All the hilt fittings remain nice and clean with the hilt wrapping in superb condition. The metal scabbard remains in untouched, uncleaned condition and interestingly continues to wear its old canvas combat covering that wears old twine reinforcement which was added at some time. Overall measuring 39 1/2 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Check out my other items. Get Vendio Gallery – Now FREE! Thanks for checking out my listing. Please take the time to read the full item description and inspect all of the photographs. I communicate well and will try to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to doing business with you. Thanks again and Have A Great Day! Up for sale is this World War 1 Era US M 1905 Bayonet. This bayonet was manufactured by Springfield Armory and is dated 1919. This bayonet is in great condition considering its age. The blade retains most of its finish. There are some runner marks from scabbard wear. The blade does not appear to have been sharpened after it left the factory. There are a few nicks in the edge of the blade. The blade is stamped S A over the flaming bomb and is dated 1919. The opposite side of the blade is stamped US and has the serial number 1061787. The guard is tight and it has no play. The guard is a little bent (see pics, bent on thumb release side). The guard, hilt and pommel all have a nice even patina. There is some light pitting and minor surface rust (nothing serious). The release mechanism is working properly but is a little stiff. The walnut handles are in great shape with no damage that I can see. One panel is stamped 956. This may be a rack number (not sure). The bayonet has an overall length of approximately 20 & inches. There is no scabbard with this bayonet. This bayonet would make a great addition to any collection. Original and outstanding U. M1905 Springfield Armory manufactured 16 inch blade bayonet dated 1920 and very rare 1920 dated RIA (Rock Island Arsenal) M-1910 Canvas and Leather Tipped Scabbard. This bayonet was intended to be used on the 1903 Springfield and early M1 Garand Rifle. Both bayonet and scabbard are both dated 1920 and obviously have seen very little or no actual service use. The scabbard is original to the bayonet, remains in excellent condition, and is of the very rare 1920 date. The scabbard is marked RIA and also dated 1920 same as the bayonet. Very few of these M1910 scabbard bare post WWI dates as so many were made during the war there was really no need to make any more in 1920. Overall an outstanding set which would be hard to upgrade in condition. These are very hard to find like this as most were used heavily between the wars, cut-down, and whatever survived got used up in the early years of WWII. Absolutely 100% guaranteed to be an original.
