ORIGINAL UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS SECOND NICARAGUAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, W/ LOCKING CATCH FULL WRAP BROOCH, & 1/2 HILBORN HAMBURGER VIKING KWIKSET RIBBON BAR. RIBBON DRAPE TESTED UV NEGATIVE AS SHOWN IN PHOTO #12. The Second Nicaraguan Campaign Medal is a campaign medal of the United States Navy & Marine Corps which was authorized by an act of the United States Congress on 8 November 1929. The Second Nicaraguan Campaign Medal was awarded for service during operations in Nicaragua from 1926 to 1933. An earlier campaign medal, the Nicaraguan Campaign Medal, was awarded for service in Nicaragua 1912. The Second Nicaraguan Campaign Medal was considered a separate award from the first version of the medal and Navy regulations permitted the receipt and wear of both decorations, if so authorized. Southerland, who had been in overall command of both Nicaraguan campaigns, was the first recipient of both versions of the Nicaraguan Campaign Medal. The Second Nicaraguan Campaign Medal appeared as a medal suspended from a red ribbon with several white stripes. The medal displayed a woman (representing Columbia), armed with a sword, defending two other figures with a cloak. The medal bore the words Second Nicaraguan Campaign with the dates 1926 1930 displayed on the medals edges (although the medal was authorized until 1933). No devices were authorized. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you! The item “M. No. 3019 U. S. MARINE CORPS SECOND NICARAGUAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL US MINT NUMBERED” is in sale since Sunday, March 26, 2017. RARE ORIGINAL PRE WW2 1st TYPE USN NAVY CHINA SERVICE CAMPAIGN MEDAL VG+ with BOX
Rare original, first type United States Navy, China Service, campaign medal. Ringtop suspension on the medal (not the later knob type) and early, full wrap brooch. In original cardboard box, with both the ribbon bar device and a pin back ribbon device. The medal measures approximately 1 5/16 in diameter. There is a penny in one photo to show scale (penny not included in sale). The original cardboard box is present. Scuffed at the corners with the red material worn away at all. There are traces of tape at the middle, with the surface red missing on the sides and on the bottom. The medal shows no wear, but has some storage type marks and a lot of tiny black marks (age spots) and uneven tarnish. The separate pin back ribbon device is faded and has light soiling may very well have been used. Same with the separate ribbon bar device which is soiled. This is a hobby not a living, so I try to keep it fun, otherwise why do it. _gsrx_vers_632 GS 6.9.8 (632).
