Gorgeous and very rare, possibly one-of-a-kind emblem. What you see here is a theater-made officer cover EGA based off the enlisted P-1908. The rope was removed presumably by grinding or filing, and then the emblem was sand cast. After casting, the wire rope was added and the eagle’s head wear twisted in the opposite direction. I believe this to be German-made rather than French, based on German-made sand-casted collar emblems I have seen over the years.
