A Serbian Order of St. Sava Grand Cross Set. Full length of original sash. Is in very good condition for its age. Grand Cross set of insignia, green robes, Saint holding a book. In silver gilt and enamels, 50x92mm (including crown suspension), unmarked, complete with full length of original sash with large rosette. Minor enamel damage on the lower arm and on the right arm. Multi-piece construction, silver gilt with blue and white enameled cross, on an eight-pointed star base. One small thin chipping evident in the blue enamels on the upper arm and one small thin chipping evident in the blue enamels on the lower arm. A small defect of the star’s lower silver beam. This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword which dates from the World War II Era and is mounted with a blade by Kanenaga who was known for his fine, well made stainless steel blades. This lovely blade wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful original condition with only some very minor surface scratches and a couple of very tiny nicks along the cutting edge. The tang is signed with a signature that translates to Fujiwara Kanenaga Motte? Seitan saku kore and on the other side? Tasugi Shinichi (most likely the name for whom it was made). Kanenaga is also known as the originator of stainless steel blades. The beautiful nice quality Military fittings all remain in very nice, clean condition as well. The LIGHTWEIGHT textured wooden scabbard also remains near perfect in its condition with just a couple of very tiny chips to the finish. Overall measuring 39 inches in length.
