GIRTH, Training Saddle Model 1916, M1926 and M1930 Was the first type to be used on the M1928 McClellan Cavalry Saddle, saber straps and saddlebag side straps were run under the outer strand and then buckled, this was not satisfactory so D rings were added in manufacture for girths intended for use on M1928 McClellans. Will fit the M1917 Officer’s Saddle and US Marquis Officer Saddle. Us stamped US JQMD with a 1933 or’38 date. Each buckle is stamped “SOLID NICKEL”. Three of the four Spacer Strips are damaged, see pictures. The web material is intact and sound as are the buckles and their billets. See pictures for details and condition. This is an officer P-26’Droop Winged Goonie Bird’ collar EGA that belonged to General William P. In 1920, he served as a geologist surveying the Alaskan coal fields as a member of the Naval Alaskan Coal Commission. He was later assigned to the American Legation in Peking, China. During this tour, he participated in Dr Roy Chapman Andrews’ third expedition to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia as a topographer. He later served in Haiti, served as a liaison officer during the construction of Camp Lejeune, and served as the Marine Corps Quartermaster General. Hill award-established in 1985-is presented by the Marine Corps annually to the best mess hall in the institution. Photos are for reference and not included. A very good worn Pre WW2 Canadian 57th Regiment Tropical Pith Helmet, shows use and at least one coat of white blanco, which was done to keep them clean looking, though a good looking example. Very nice plate to the front, in keeping with the look of the helmet. Chinstrap complete and undamaged, liner in very good condition, with maker details to crown, overall a nice helmet. German M29 Army full combat weight steel helmet, one narrow diameter vent horn on each side, the shell is impression stamped “DRP” (Deutches Reichs Patent) “ang” in the right neckguard interior, NO damage The shell is factory painted Smooth Gray – Green inside & out looks very WW2 Italian! The shell measures out to be a size 66, no size stamping on the leather. The 3 pad liner is very similar to the M16, with the addition of a connecting leather band. WW2 Dutch steel helmet M38R in original condition. The’R’ stands for the position of the liner’Romanian way’ (used for export helmets) i. Some degrees different from the common style placed liners. This is a helmet of the Dutch troops as used against the German invadors in may 1940. It was manufactured in the Netherlands by “Artillerie Inrichtingen” or “Verblifa”. Its shape is a slight different than its predecessor, the M27. The helmet retains a beautiful repro Art Deco Bronze emblem representing the Arms of the Netherlands. Visually stunning and looking similar to the German M35 helmet, it is much harder to find, especially in such a great condition. Original chinstrap and liner are present. Liner missing few tongues as visible on pictures but still very nice shape. Some surface rust on the beak. Easy to clean but kept as was found.
