Great condition WWII German Army K98 Bayonet and Scabbard marked Elite Diamont 1939 and with matching serial #s 5787c. The blade is perfect and has never been sharpened, the very tip is flattened and the picture makes it look a lot worse than it really is, grips are dark brown bakelite and are in perfect shape, no rust just old age patina, the mounting screws and round nuts are excellent and not mangled, the flash guard is also perfect, the press stud works perfectly, clean mortise, and double waffen stamped on the pommel. The scabbard doesn’t have any rust and just one ding on the back side. It also comes with an original frog which is unmarked and the threads have separated on one side. This is a good example of a Japanese Officer Sword mounted with an old Wakizashi blade that dates from the Shinto Era and was most likely carried by a Pilot or possibly a Tank Commander during the War. The old blade wears a cutting edge of 18 7/8 inches in length and remains in good condition boasting a beautiful wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side and has only a few minor forging flaws. The tang has three holes and is unsigned. The hilt is nicely fitted with lovely fittings which includes a pair of bow quiver menuki. The leather combat covered scabbard is scuffed but does remain in good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 31 3/4 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This is a very nice example of an Italian Eagle Head Dress Dagger Pugnali that dates from the late World War II Era. It is mounted with a blade that measures 6 3/4 inches in length which remains in good condition with some minor surface scratches and minor blemishes. The lovely black painted carved wooden grip remains very healthy and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The hilt is crowned with a wonderfully well detailed eagle head pommel and backstrap that also remain nice with most of their original finish still present as well.
