WWII Imperial Japanese Naval flag. It measures 36 by 51 inches, has two leather tabs in the corners. It has several stains, but still in great condition. All our items come from estate sales, yard sales, flea markets or places that we have traveled. All Japanese items come directly from Japan. Feedback will be left once feedback is received. For your consideration is this very scarce, and beautifully made, N. Meyer “Meyer Metal” Post WWI 1920’s to 1930’s Naval Aviator Wing. They are full sized (2.75) and are in exceptional original condition. The pin and barrel clasp function as originally intended. Catalog Fighting Ships by T. Jane (aka famous “Jane’s Fighting Ships”). 1920 edition by Sampson Low, Martson & Co Naval Publishers, London and Edinburgh. Hard cover, 12 ½ x 8 format, 579 pp. The front cover and several advertisement pages in the front are loose, but the binding of the text block is otherwise holding together well. The spine cover is missing. Boards worn at the corners and scuffed on the front. Some of the pages, mostly in the back, are wrinkled and creased. The interior is very clean overall with mild age toning only. There is a lightly sketched caricature portrait of a man and some scribbled notes in pencil throughout the first advertisement pages. The main portion of the book however is nearly pristine: shows no stains, pen or pencil marks, or tears, although few last pages (primarily on the Turkish navy) have wear to the edges. This book is a great resource for a naval historian, collector or model builder. USNA United States Naval Academy 14k/10k Gold Pin. The top (center) portion tested 14k gold and the wheel tested for 10K gold. The wheel has 1922 on one side and 1972 on the other. Item is very nice. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Naval Officer’s Dress Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful machine made blade that measures 25 3/4 inches in length. The plated blade although remains in good condition, has flaking to the plating on either side. The D-guard is beautifully detailed with pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs that adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face and frame a lovely white samé covered hilt with the original twisted wire wrap still securely in place. The wonderful shagreen covered scabbard has survived beautifully and in very healthy condition. All the lovely fittings continue to wear much of their original gold wash, and although the base fitting has a small ding on one side, they do remain very nice in their condition as well. Original German Kriegsmarine naval officer’s sword with sheath, either Weimar republic or WWII but reconciled to be more likely produced during the Weimar Republic after researching different design variants of the lion’s head German naval sword and the apparent scarcity of this exact design. Sword has NO OFFENSIVE MARKINGS and is in overall very good condition. Sheath has some light rubbing wear to the leather as well as some minor and superficial white scuffs. Sheath is overall very well intact though the middle and lower brass pieces are missing their staples. Blade is in very nice condition and shows an etched naval motif which remained the same from the WWI imperial period and earlier through the Weimar Republic and WWII. Blade is very well intact but does show some normal tarnishing for it’s age that should be able to be cleaned if the next owner chooses to do so. Blade has 553 serial number as well as ACS with scales mark for the Alcoso maker. Grip has a crack from the upper end to about the middle measuring about 1 1/2 inches. Though the grip is cracked no pieces are falling free or loose at all. Hilt is in excellent condition with anchor and floral motif with lion’s head at the lower end with a green and red jewel for each eye. Hinges on hilt perfectly intact and function as they should. Portapee is present and sturdy and overall in good condition with some obvious fraying. Blade measures 28 1/4 inches long. Entire sword in sheath measures 33 7/8 inches. This is a superb example of a Large Japanese High Ranking Naval Officer’s D-Guard Sword Pattern 1883. It is mounted with a grooved arsenal made blade which measures 26 1/2 inches in length that remains in very nice original condition. The fabulous gilded D-guard wears all of its original bright gold wash and frames a beautiful white samé covered hilt that has survived in very healthy condition and with its twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The lovely original red and cream Sword Knot remains very nice in its condition and is mounted upon a gold cloth cording that reflects only minor wear. The outstanding shagreen covered scabbard also remains in near mint condition and wears beautifully detailed coordinating fittings that continue to wear all of their bright gold wash as well.
