A great lot of vintage “yardlong” photos from Camp Perry Ohio! First, these are not true yardlongs as the larger pair measure just 9 1/4 by 21 inches long. However, they are original 1930 and 1935 panoramic views of the Massachusetts Civilian Rifle Team and the Small Arms Firing School, basically a National Guard shooting championship competition. All three in good shape with wood frames. The item “1930s Camp Perry Ohio MA National Guard Rifle Marksmanship Yardlong Photos 3 lot” is in sale since Tuesday, September 17, 2019. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\1919-38\Original Period Items”. The seller is “bdnad” and is located in Portland, Maine. This item can be shipped worldwide.

S ARMY ON MEXICAN BORDER 23rd NY INFANTRY N. FANTASTIC ORIGINAL LARGE FELT BANNER CIRCA 1916. Multi piece red, blue & white felt banner measuring approximately 29 inches by 29 inches (presented diagonally). Undated but circa 1916. Features the E Pluribus Unum. Seal of the United States. Condition: Offered as found: Faded, a few small holes, white border partially lacking perhaps other elements as well? , still quite attractive & visually compelling. As far as we can tell, this piece is unique; essentially a piece of folk art created by an unknown artist, quite possibly the wife of a returning veteran. The 23rd Infantry, New York National Guard was part of the 3rd Brigade, 27th Division. On 9 March 1916 Poncho Villa (born as Doroteo Arango) and his band of nearly 500 men attacked the 13th U. Cavalry at Camp Furlong near Columbus, New Mexico. During their retreat they also attacked nearby Columbus, New Mexico, killing several citizens. In response to this attack of US soil President Woodrow Wilson called up over 110,000 men from the National Guards of various states. Since New York had one of the most organized National Guard organizations, many New Yorkers were sent to the Mexican Border in 1916. In all 15,289 officers and men from the New York division were sent to the border. (Courtesy New York State Military Museum). We pack carefully using appropriate protective materials. This is an excellent condition Springfield Armory Heavy Checkered Early 1903 National Match Buttplate. It has the correct early Dark Parkerized finish. It has little to no wear on the top, bottom and inside from being mounted on a rifle stock but saw little to no use given its overall excellent condition. This is the early version prior to Springfield Armory adding drawing numbers to this style of buttplate. Springfield Armory later added two different sets of drawing numbers to the rear inside area of the buttplate to differentiate between National Match and Standard Military issued Heavy Checkered buttplates. This would be correct for any Springfield Armory National Match Rifle. These were also used on standard rifles and were highly sought after by the Marines during WWII for use on their issued and arsenal overhauled rifles. Due to the shortage, some USMC buttplates during the WWII time frame have homemade punch marked type checkering to help stabilize the rifle during firing. This would also work well for any 1903/1903A3 rifle for shooting purposes. Add this to the National Match Rear Sight I have up for sale to help finish restoring your SA National Match Rifle.
