1925 Australian Cruise Medal US Navy Fleet Token MS63 NGC Naval, Australia
Up for sale is a commemorative medal made in commemoration of the United States Naval cruise to Australia, 1925. Description: It is made from gilt bronze, and measures approximately 38mm in diameter. Despite probably meeting the criteria of a so-called dollar, it is unlisted in Hibler-Kappen. The ports of call of the American fleet are listed on the reverse. Note that this is the “curved Australia” variety of the piece. Condition: Graded at MS63 by NGC with somewhat colorfully-toned surfaces on both sides (this isn’t really showing up in the photographs as well as in hand). POLAND POLISH REGIMENTAL CIGARETTE CASE, STERLING, Maker hallmarks. 4.5 ounces, 3 by 4 inches. Awarded to a medical officer of the Australian Royal Army Medical Corps. He served with the Polish scorpion regiment known as the 4th Armored Regiment at Monte Cassino and in the Middle East. His initials MK are inside the case. This recipient was awarded this presentation case upon departure from the regiment after the end of the war. Such presentations are a tradition in the Polish Armed Forces as a token of great esteem and appreciation for services to the regiment by the commanding officer. Very rare Polish militaria. The front of the case has two British Medical corps insignia, a mini Jerusalem Cross, sterling scorpion and a mini Polish 2nd Corps badge. This item could be research to identify the recipient.
