POLAND POLISH REGIMENTAL CIGARETTE CASE, STERLING, Maker hallmarks. 4.5 ounces, 3 by 4 inches. Awarded to a medical officer of the Australian Royal Army Medical Corps. He served with the Polish scorpion regiment known as the 4th Armored Regiment at Monte Cassino and in the Middle East. His initials MK are inside the case. This recipient was awarded this presentation case upon departure from the regiment after the end of the war. Such presentations are a tradition in the Polish Armed Forces as a token of great esteem and appreciation for services to the regiment by the commanding officer. Very rare Polish militaria. The front of the case has two British Medical corps insignia, a mini Jerusalem Cross, sterling scorpion and a mini Polish 2nd Corps badge. This item could be research to identify the recipient.
