This listing is for a scarce late 1920’s CHINA MARINE 8″ x 11″ personal leather cover photo album put together by USMC private George C. Lewis assigned to the 10th Marines. Contains over 113 photos and documents. Less than 10% are family photos the remainder being USMC marines in various period uniforms and activities. Henderson that arrived in Shanghai China on 2 May 1927 with Marines for the garrison there and remained in China for 6 months. The detachment was assigned to protect American Nationals in the war-torn China area. A great find for the USMC collector and historians. This is ia vintage British Black Watch White Buff Leather Other Ranks Sporran. Date stamped 1937 on the back of the cantle. Also stamped some undecipherable numbers as well. There is faded writing on the back of the sporran and the buff leather on the front has a horizontal surface crack; otherwise just normal signs of use. For sale is a vintage rifle mounted / hand held bayonet. It’s a Dutch model 1895 manufactured under contract by Austria (the OE over WG stamp on the blade) and used by the Dutch Infantry. Those made under contract by Austria and Germany had hooked quillons and were the earliest version. Blade length approx 14 inches – 19 inches overall length. Blade is marked on both sides – unknown markings – 6739 G (stamped on the cross piece) – both sides of blade have some sort of makers marks. Locking bolt spring is strong and functional. Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWII Russian Model 1927 cavalry Shashka sword. Nicely unit marked on the blade and dated 1932. 31 ¾ blade has beautiful original bright finish and has been sharpened. Still has original leather washer at the base. Brass fittings have attractive patina. Dated 1932 on the lower fitting, pommel has beautiful hammer and sickle markings. Fitted in correct original leather covered scabbard that has steel fittings. All fittings are present including the sots for holding a Mosin Nagant socket bayonet. A hard to find WWII Russian cavalry saber that will make an impressive addition to your collection. This medal was awarded to those volunteers who were still alive on the 50th anniversary of the Irish War of Independence. It is notably more rare than the Black and Tan Service Medal. It comes in its original box as shown with presidential slip. Officially called’The Survivors Medal’ but nick-named’Black and Tan’ after the enemies of the IRA during the War of Independence – The Black and Tans. The medal is original and in fine condition.
