This is a good example of an early 20th Century German made Hunting Bowie Knife. It is mounted with a spear point blade that measures 8 1/4 inches in length which although remains very nice in its condition, does have surface staining to the polish. The blade wears the maker’s marking A. FEIST & Co SOLINGEN on one side of the ricasso. It wears a German silver cannon ball finial guard that nicely accentuates the beautiful and very healthy stag horn hilt grips. Overall the Knife measures 12 13/16 inches in length. This is an ORIGINAL example of the Model 1902 Officer’s Dress Sword/Saber and scabbard, as worn during dress uniform occasions. The saber was manufactured in Germany (see image of ricasso) and so I have placed its vintage between the World Wars. The saber is chromed and engraved with the Army coat-of-arms on the reverse surface and on the obverse has U. ” and the name of the officer “Edwin J.
