Rare US Army M-1904 CAVALRY SCABBARD M-1903 Springfield Rifle McClellan Saddle
This sale is for a rare vintage U. Army M-1904 leather saddle scabbard. The scabbard was produced under military contract by the Lawrence Co. Portland, Oregon, on or near 1917 – 1918. The scabbard was produced to accommodate the Army M-1903 Springfield rifle. The scabbard has the “LAWRENCE” mark and also S. Which could be the inspectors initials. This leather scabbard does not have the two tie down straps or belts. The condition of this scabbard is very good. All of the stitching is tight and complete, the brass rivets and copper washers are also tight and in good condition. The hole at the bottom of the scabbard still contains the brass grommet.
