German Officers and non-commissioned Officers Air Force Complete Dagger 1937. The blade is steel, straight, flat, hexagonal. Two cutting edges polished, no heel. The handle is round, wooden, plastic-topped orange. By spiral grooves handle wrapped with wire. At the bottom of a cylindrical sleeve, decorated with ornaments made of oak leaves. Spherical head handle, molded together with the upper nut. Decorated on both sides of the relief image of a swas and an ornament from oak leaves. The head is screwed onto the blade shank and has a flat circular top a button. Cross-cast, from the front side in the form of a flying eagle carrying a swas in its claws. On the reverse side has a cross dotted background. All metal parts are cast from aluminum hilt. The scabbard is made of metal, solid, surface covered with small dots. Very Nice Japanese Army Officer Shin Gunto Sword
This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer’s Sword that is mounted with a nice, Seki arsenal blade. The blade has survived in near perfect condition and wears a cutting edge that measures 27 1/8 inches in length that features a lovely actively wavy temper line which extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears a showa stamp and is well signed which translates to “Sekiju Mori Toshiharu Sakku”. The hilt wrapping reflects age with light staining nevertheless does remain tightly in place and all the fittings also remain very nice in their condition. The metal scabbard has a couple of small battle dings, but does remain in very good serviceable condition and wears beautiful fittings as well. Overall measuring 40 inches in length. Very Nice Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer Sword Wwii
This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Shin Gunto Army Officer’s Sword. It is mounted with a beautiful arsenal made, stainless steel blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 24 1/4 inches in length. The blade has survived in wonderfully nice original condition with only some very minor surface blemishes. The tang wears one hole and is unmarked. All the very nice quality fittings remain clean and in beautiful condition as well. The very nice metal scabbard also remains pristine in its condition. Overall measuring 39 1/8 inches in length. C96 Mauser barrel extention and barrel
C96 Mauser barrel extension with barrel. Stamped on side Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A/N. Along with double crown above the letter “U”. Serial number is stamped on rear of extension under rear sight. I’m not sure if it’s a pre-war commercial or an M-30. According to old guns. Net S/N 92794 dates to 1905 making this a pre-war commercial. The barrel has a step in it and the rear sight does not have the 900 meter mark, making me think it’s an M-30 dating between 1930&1937 but the serial numbers seem to low. I’m not a collector and can’t say for sure which it is. Inside the barrel is clean shiny, no rust or pitting. There is no marking for chamber size on barrel. The chamber is cut for a cartridge with a shoulder so I believe it is 7.63 mm. Barrel measures 5.5 and has 6 groove rifling. The grooves are much wider than the lands, which is opposite of most modern barrels. 50-1000 meter tangent rear sight. There is no 900 meter mark. The barrel has lots of scratches, mostly on underside near extension. Blueing on barrel is worn. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. Engraved, Named 4 Clasp 1934 US Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal Guadalcanal Vet
1934 Engraved US Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal with four engraved clasps indicating four additional awards, named to Chief Gunner’s Mate Pink W. Sanders received his first GCM while serving aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Tampa. The clasps are all engraved and dated as follows: CG-412 6/30/39 (CG-412 was a 81 foot patrol boat); Hunter Liggett 9/30/1942 (the USS Hunter Liggett was a Coast Guard manned attack transport that earned four WWII battle stars including for Guadalcanal); PSC-9 9/30/45; San Juan District 9/30/1948. I found a little information on Sanders on-line; he served aboard the USS Wyoming for gunnery instruction from 31 December 1942 until 24 January 1943. Sanders passed away in 1974 and is interred in Silver Brook. The Navy muster rolls include Sanders’ service number which can be used fro further research. Rare five enlistment USCG medal.
