Wonderful WWII German Army Wehrmacht Officers Dress Sword Bullion Portepee Knot Large Size, Good Issued Condition as Photographed with wear as seen.
It belonged to Ernest Washington Lamons. Blade has the officer’s name on one side and a spread winged Eagle on the other. I was told he graduated the Naval academy in the mid 1920’s. This is a very nice example of a Swiss Army Officer Dagger that was manufactured by ELSENER SCHWYZ as marked on the ricasso. It is mounted with a beautiful blade that measures 8 1/4 inches in length which remains in superb, original condition. There is a serial number on the backside of the ricasso. The healthy wooden grips wear plated metal fittings which all remain in very nice condition as well. The metal scabbard has a lovely black lacquered finish as well as wears a very nice belt clip. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Officer’s Sword Knot which was used with the Japanese Kyu Gunto Mounted Sword and is complete with a beautiful gold woven thread slider. It is constructed with a black woven linen strap, a large solid black knot along with the woven thread slider. It has survived in very nice original condition. This is a good example of a War-Time Japanese Naval Officer’s Parade Dress Sword. It is mounted with a machine made blade that measures 26 1/2 inches in length which remains in near mint condition. The lovely brass D-guard still wears traces of the original gold finish and frames a samé covered hilt with its original wire wrap still tightly in place. Pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face. The black lacquered leather scabbard wears beautiful fittings with coordinating sakura motifs that also continue to wear traces of their gold wash and although the leather is lightly scuffed, the leather does remain in very healthy condition. The original pretty cloth Sword Knot remains present and healthy although its cord is now a bit worn. Overall the Sword measures 33 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
