This is a very nice example of a German Hirschfanger Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely straight beefy spearpoint blade that measures 9 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/4 inches at the widest. The blade has survived in beautiful, original condition with only some minor surface blemishes and continues to wear all of its nice markings on either side. It wears a nicely detailed straight German silver crossguard which frames an impressive stag horn hilt that fits well in the grip and features a beautiful silver escutcheon with the itinials of the original owner on one side. The deep rich dark green leather scabbard also remains in very nice original condition with just some wear to the leather finish on the tip. Overall measuring 16 1/8 inches in length. Since some people want to play God and erase history instead of having the future leaders learn from the mistakes of the past, they prefer to hide it or censor the worlds past. But we all know what it is and there is no damage under the blurs, if you want to see it uncensored this is listed on craigslist at Pittsburgh Pa. This is in great clean shape, the braids are still intact around the handle, has some small nicks and scratches, and a small dent at bottom of scabbard, i only wiped this with a rag and did no other type cleaning, i would leave that to new owner. There is no name on blade that i can find, i was told that is normal and there were dagger made that had no name. Great collectible of military German items. This is a nicely customized Japanese Army Dress Parade Sword Dagger that dates from the World War II Era. The period customized blade now measures 9 1/2 inches in length and remains in nice condition with only some minor surface blemishes to the plating. The beautifully detailed guard also remains nice and frames a lovely carved horn that is healthy with just a few small chips near the ferrule and pommel nevertheless the twisted wire wrap is still tightly in place. The nickel plated scabbard has some flaking to the plating with light oxidation nevertheless has no dings and remains in nice serviceable condition. Overall measuring 26 3/8 inches in length. This is a beautiful example of a well made large Arabian Jambiya Dagger Short Sword which dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is mounted with a curved blade that measures 16 3/8 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches at the widest. The blade reflects cleanings from recent years, nevertheless does remain in nice condition with only minor surface blemishes and light scratches. The wonderful horn hilt is attractively adorned with a lovely front silver detailed sleeve that wears nicely detailed rivets. The large scabbard is also beautifully enhanced with artfully detailed silver work that very nicely coordinates to the hilt. The scabbard has survived in very nice condition as well.
