This helmet was manufactured in the Netherlands and is slightly different than the M34. The heraldic Lion sign of the Kingdom of The Netherlands is original. Leather liner and nape cover are original and have always belonged to this helmet. The liner felt pads are missing. The chin strap is original and on full length. All in all a wonderful addition to any helmet collection. Liner marked DM 1932, bowl marked 31 BC. See also my other advertisements. These Helmets were the result of the Free State of Ireland, needing to equip their Army of 10,000 men with a suitable helmet after the hostilities of WW1 ending in 1918. Thus when the Irish Free State Army of 10,000 men was formed, a uniform helmet was required, and the British “Tommy” helmet was not favored. So, the German WW1 design was settled upon. Only 10.021 were produced. To compare: The famous Austrian Berndorf helmet had a production of 140.000!!!!! Since the Treaty of Versailles prohibited Germany from exporting military equipment, the search for helmets ended in Britain. Off course, these Vickers helmets were of british inferior- steel quality, minor to the German models. This very scarce Mod. 27 Irish Vickers helmet is in very good condition. It has been repainted in the original color. Stamp of Vickers 27 in the neck of the helmet. See the details on the pictures! FISKARS BAYONET no scabbard, estate sale find. Only know what little have read serial #35897 which I understand matched to its weapon. Please refer to pictures for condition and specifics. Do not collect knife, bayonet or military items. Have not cleaned or sharpened only research of blades markings. Lots of patina with wooden grip. Just over 16″ length blade is 12″. What I have found is this: Finnish Mosin Nagant bayonet. This type of bayonet was issued with Finnish Mosin Nagant rifles M. 1927, 1928, 1928/30, 1939. This was a standard Finnish army bayonet during the Winter War. Made in Finland by FISKARS and accordingly marked on the blade. The serial number is stamped on the back of the grip.
