ORIGINAL, RARE & VG+ Pre-WWII AC Slate Blue Aviation Cadet Shirt 15.5″ x 35″! This is an ORIGINAL, RARE and VERY GOOD+ condition pre-WWII Army Air Corps aviation cadet shirt. The shirt is made of slate blue wool serge twill fabric. The slate blue color is best see in the close-up, non-flash images. According to online sources, the uniform was authorized for wear by Army Air Corps aviation cadets by a change to Army Regulation 600-35 on 1 December 1928, Paragraph 13-1/2, and was worn well into World War II. Included below are some B&W photographs and captions which show the uniform being worn by upper class aviation cadet officers. The shirt is in VERY GOOD condition and shows no mothing, rips, holes or tears to the wool serge fabric. All of the original khaki buttons are present and unbroken. The shirt is by measurement a 15.5″ neck x 35″ sleeve (25 from shoulder seam). The other measurements are as follows (measured across width of shirt): chest 23″; waist 20.5″; and overall 34. The shirt appears to have been laundered at some point in its life, rather than dry-cleaned, and probably started out as a 16″ x 36″ shirt. Weimar Freikorps Schlageter badge; second type; an oval badge constructed of silvered bronze with very fine details; the obverse with a Christian cross, inscribed Schlageter. WW2 Dutch steel helmet M34 type in original condition. This helmet was manufactured in the Netherlands by “Artillerie Inrichtingen” or “Verblifa”. The helmet shell is original. The badge was removed in the fog of war during the 5 days of defending the Netherlands against the Germans (may 10-15 1940). Against the facts proved by tests, the soldiers feared the soft copper badge would make a good entry for bullets to enter and pierce the steel helmet. Although untrue, they removed the badge when being near the front line. During the occupation by the Germans, badges were removed as well to meet the Nazi standards. But that was done mechanically, and not leaving clear traces as this example shows. This is a highly collectable item which will undoubtedly increase in value. See also my other advertisements. 08 Leather Hard-Shell Luger Pistol Holster with 8-round Magazine and Takedown Tool. Holster is marked on the back C. WEISS BRAUNSCHWEIG”, “WaA330″ with Waffenamt eagle, and date “1937. Holster is used and is in good condition. Leather is in good shape- stiff with a few minor scuffs. On front, there is small nick above the closure belt. Belt closure has creases but is still sturdy and functional. Stitching is strong throughout. Interior in good shape with a few scuffs. Holster is approximately 10 inches long, 8 inches wide at top, 1.5 inches wide at bottom and 1.75 inches high. Stamped on bottom is “7405” or could be “7408” (see photo). Stamped at the bottom side P. 08″ along with “fxo”, Waffenamt eagle with a “37. At top, it is also marked with Waffenamt eagle and “37”. Spring is good shape. There is some scuffing on the top and side but bluing is about 80% intact. See photos for close-ups of the markings on the magazine. Also included is original takedown tool. Blade is in good condition for age and use has minor ruff/chips from use in war. Scabbard has with some scuffs and dents on both sides as expected for war use items. Crossguard is numbered, but scabbard is not. Both knife and scabbard have BT3 markings. Back of crossguard has # 3 which matches the entrance to the scabbard also marked with #3.
