Here is a wonderful WW1 USMC painted helmet. ID’d to Thomas E. Lee who was a member of the 69th Guard Company, 11th Regiment, 5th Marine Brigade, AEF. He was at Camp Pontanezen, France from what I can tell. Stunning color artwork with crossed American and French flag, large EGA to front along with German style tortoiseshell camo design. This is 100% guaranteed to be real, and is one of the most attractive Marine Corps painted helmets we have ever seen. This is a very nice and extremely well made German Bayonet Trench Knife that was made from a German 84/98 Bayonet. It is mounted with a clipped point blade which measures 5 7/8 inches in length that remains in superb original condition with only minor scabbard wear to the blued finish near the tip. The screw type wooden grips remain in superb, original condition as well. The metal scabbard is very nicely mounted with a belt clip and also remains very nice, fitting the blade snuggly. Fantastic Pre WW2 Trench Art Theater Made Working Brass Signal Cannon. The best piece of trench art I have ever found. Fantastic little desk cannon made from naval shell brass. This is an example of a French Trench Knife, Model 1916 also known as “Le Vengeur de 1870″ and was manufactured by the maker S. O as marked on one side of the ricasso. It is mounted with a nice blade which measures 6 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in nice condition with only some minor surface scratches, light sharpening and minor stains. The wooden hilt is simple in design but nicely carved, remains healthy and is tightly fitted with a steel crossguard. This particular Trench Knife most likely saw action during WWII and the story is that the leather sheath was constructed from the leather of a German Fighter Pilot’s seat. It is mounted with a “W” marked blade that measures 6 3/4 inches in length which remains in superb original condition with only some minor surface blemishes. It has a two piece riveted wooden grip that also remains in excellent condition. The black lacquered scabbard wears a belt clip and remains near perfect in its condition as well with just some light surface scuffing. Overall measuring 11 1/2 inches in length. The blade is well marked “PUMA SOLINGEN” on the ricasso on one side. It wears a beautiful two piece red bakelite grip that is triple riveted and remains secure and healthy. Maker– Herald marked on the mainspring winding wheel as pictured. Case Material– 9K Solid Gold. Case Color– Pinkish Yellow. Functions are also checked-date -day-timers functions etc. Any function problems that we find at the time will be noted or corrected. Watch cases are sanitized by steam and ultrasonic cleaning methods so that the new owner won’t have the previous owners dirt and grime to deal with. If for some reason the case can’t be cleaned we will note that. Dial Condition– Nice original porcelain dial with new luminous added. Hands are also original with new luminous. Original domed glass crystal. Case Condition–Ok used with wear around the bezel edge with at some time in the past was repaired. Looks to have used silver solder as the repair lines look silverish in color. The grill guard is not original to this watch but with the guard attached you don’t see the bezel edge imperfections. Some tarnish spots on the case back as pictured. Case Size– 37mm Lug End to End , 33mm Across the case not including the Crown. Special Features — case back with two covers – inside dust cover is engraved A. Watch case is well hallmarked as pictured. Grill guard is Gold Plated Sterling. We greatly will appreciate it.
