RARE M-1903/29 Royal Italian Naval Academy Cadet Dagger. Wonderful Italian cadet dagger in excellent condition, “Trento” carved label on the blade. Trento warships were put into service in 1929, the dagger was owned by one of the naval crew member. Serial number 139 on the scabbard. 34cm full length (13.6in). The dagger is 31.5cm long (12.6in). British Royal Engineers Edward the 8th Officers Sword with Scabbard. The guard has been removed at one time and silver plated which really makes it stand out. The handle is shark skin with a wire wrap. The scabbard is brown leather with extra brown leather added at the bottom for I assume a repair at one time but this doesnt really detract. The blade is made by Anderson in Edinborough and has the Royal Engineers symbol on one side and Edward the 8th on the other. The blade has some oxidation down near the tip which could be restored with a little bit of work. Some grey spots also show on the blade here and there. The paperwork further insinuates the clock is from 1938 (it’s also possible this was just a point of reference – I cannot say for certain). The clock measures approximately 19″ in diameter and is approximately 7″ deep. I have NOT attempted to wind the clock, so I do NOT know if it runs or not. It may or may not need service. The weight & key are included. Nor have I attempted to remove the front of the clock to observe the movement, though it is a fusee movement as visible from the side door (pictured). There is a crack on one corner of the case (pictured). One of the four “pegs” that holds the front on is missing. Further, as you can observe in the photos, the paint has faded slightly on the face.
