This is a good example of a Japanese Officer Sword mounted with an old Wakizashi blade that dates from the Shinto Era and was most likely carried by a Pilot or possibly a Tank Commander during the War. The old blade wears a cutting edge of 18 7/8 inches in length and remains in good condition boasting a beautiful wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side and has only a few minor forging flaws. The tang has three holes and is unsigned. The hilt is nicely fitted with lovely fittings which includes a pair of bow quiver menuki. This is a very nice example of an Italian Eagle Head Dress Dagger Pugnali that dates from the late World War II Era. It is mounted with a blade that measures 6 3/4 inches in length which remains in good condition with some minor surface scratches and minor blemishes. The lovely black painted carved wooden grip remains very healthy and with its original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The hilt is crowned with a wonderfully well detailed eagle head pommel and backstrap that also remain nice with most of their original finish still present as well. This is an interesting example of a one-of-a-kind Field Made Customized German Trench Knife. It is mounted with a blade that measures 7 3/4 inches in length that reflects good honest wear with crude sharpening as well as a recent cleaning. The copper hilt is very nicely adorned with an eagle head pommel and flowing backstrap that fits snuggly to the thumb’s grip. The copper hilt is also hand-stamped with a name along with some markings on the underside. The simple black lacquered scabbard is lightly scuffed but does remain in good serviceable condition and has no dings. Overall measuring 11 5/8 inches in length. This is a good example of a Japanese War-Time Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/8 inches in length. The blade has some minor scratches on one side as well as some very minor stains on the other side, otherwise remains in good original condition. The signed tang wears the signature ” TAKAMASA ” along one side and a date that translates to “Showa juhachinen kugatsu (1943, September)” on its other side. All the beautiful quality fittings remain very nice in their condition. This is a good example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with an ancestral blade that wears a cutting edge of 19 inches in length. The blade although is in need of a professional polish, does remain in good condition with just some minor openings but no cracks and no bends. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been shortened leaving only a portion of the signature Omidajo Fuji? The large D-guard remains in nice condition with some of the original gild still present and is enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The beautiful white rayskin covered hilt is a bit damaged near the peg hole, otherwise remains very healthy in its condition and a small portion of the original twisted wire wrap is still present. This is a good example of a War Time Era Japanese Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral, streamline KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 25 1/2 inches in length. The blade has survived in nice condition with a lovely straight temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade has some scratches and surface blemishes as well as has a small parallel opening crack on the cutting edge near the tip. The tang wears two holes and shows to have been cleaned with fitted during the war. All the fittings remain very nice and clean in their condition. The leather combat covered wooden scabbard wears two carrying rings and remains in very nice serviceable condition. Overall, the Sword measures 37 1/2 inches in length. This is a good example of a Military Gurka Kukri Knife. It is mounted with a well made curved, single-edged blade that measures 12 3/4 inches in length which although shows some light staining, does remain in very good condition and is dated “M43″. The blade remains healthy with some minor surface blemishes and a few tiny nicks to the cutting edge, nevertheless is in nice condition and boasts a lovely large temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The well signed tang wears characters which translate to “BIZEN NAGAMITSU “. Although tight, the hilt is darkly stained however, all the fittings remain nice and the scabbard had some scuffing to the finish but does remain in good serviceable condition and has no dings. The blade remains in good, healthy condition with no nicks and no bends but does have a few scratches and some minor surface staining. The tang is signed which translates to ” HIROMISTU ” and is dated “Showa jukyunen jugatsu (1944, October)”. All the fittings also remain in very nice condition as does the metal scabbard which has only a little scuffing near the carrying ring. Overall measuring 38 3/4 inches in length.
