This is an extremely nice example of a Japanese Army Dress Parade Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful machine made blade that measures 32 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with its gorgeous chemically applied temper line still beautifully present on either side. The beautifully detailed guard remains in very nice condition as well and wears a lovely silver Japanese Samurai family mon on the backstrap. The lovely carved horn hilt has survived in very healthy condition and with all of its twisted wire wrap still securely in place. This is a wonderful example of a World War II Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer Sword mounted with an ancestral blade. The blade wears a cutting edge that measures 26 9/16 inches in length and remains very nice in its condition with just some minor surface blemishes and a few very tiny nicks to the cutting edge, nevertheless continues to wear a beautiful polish and boasts a gorgeous actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade also features a lovely horimono on either side. The tang wears two holes and is signed “Bizen No Kuni Osafune Sukesada Saku”. This Sword wears high quality Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts that also remain very nice condition in their condition as well as is accentuated with a pretty silver family Mon upon one of the menuki. The Regulation scabbard has also survived well with just some light scuffing to the beautiful lacquer finish however has no dings. Overall, the Sword measures 38 3/4 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Naval Officer’s Dress Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful machine made blade that measures 25 3/4 inches in length. The plated blade although remains in good condition, has flaking to the plating on either side. The D-guard is beautifully detailed with pretty cherry blossoms “sakura” motifs that adorn the pommel, the backstrap and the guard face and frame a lovely white samé covered hilt with the original twisted wire wrap still securely in place. The wonderful shagreen covered scabbard has survived beautifully and in very healthy condition. All the lovely fittings continue to wear much of their original gold wash, and although the base fitting has a small ding on one side, they do remain very nice in their condition as well. This is a very nice example of a beautifully well made Japanese Army Officer’s Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a wonderful blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 25 inches in length and boasts a gorgeous actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The blade has survived in very nice original condition with only some very minor surface blemishes. The tang is signed which translates to ” Minamoto Nichi Nobu Saku Kore “. All the lovely fittings also remain in very nice condition and with the wrapping nice and tight. This is an original 1939 Japanese Army soldiers signed & stamped battle flag. It measures 27 by 32 inches, has several holes and stains, but still a great old flag.
