This is a very nice example of a German Hirschfanger Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely straight beefy spearpoint blade that measures 9 3/4 inches in length by 1 1/4 inches at the widest. The blade has survived in beautiful, original condition with only some minor surface blemishes and continues to wear all of its nice markings on either side. It wears a nicely detailed straight German silver crossguard which frames an impressive stag horn hilt that fits well in the grip and features a beautiful silver escutcheon with the itinials of the original owner on one side. The deep rich dark green leather scabbard also remains in very nice original condition with just some wear to the leather finish on the tip. Overall measuring 16 1/8 inches in length. This is a good example of a German Hunting Horn which dates from the early 20th Century. It wears an escutcheon upon the top side that reads “Fürst-Pless”. The body has now richly patined with age and has a couple of small working ding along the side otherwise has survived in lovely condition and is nicely enhanced with a rich dark leather wrapping. This is a very nice example of a rare and seldom encountered German Hunting Association Hirschfänger Dagger Short Sword which dates from the early 20th Century. It is mounted with a lovely straight spearpoint blade that measures 13 1/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in superb original condition with only very light scratches near the tip nevertheless continues to wear all of the gorgeous etching on either side that features intricately detailed hunting scenes. The beautifully detailed clam shell guard wears deer hoof finials on its crossguard, is silvered finished and has now wonderfully patined to a pretty blue hue. The lovely stag horn hilt fits well in the grip and is crowned with an acorn-tipped pommel with its silvered fittings also now very nicely patined to blue. The fabulous textured leather scabbard is fitted with beautiful coordinating silvered fittings, remains very healthy as well and is also mounted with its original very nice brown leather frog.
