This week, I will be listing a Wonderful Collection of Military Memorabilia and Vintage Clothing. This is a Fantastic, Very Rare, Early US Marine Corps officer’s military formal mess dress blue uniform. This wonderful Old piece has a Great, Vintage design, with USMC buttons & ornate Gold Bullion embroidery, is made of Wool, marked “The Horstmann Uniform Company – Philadelphia”, ID’d David F. O’Neill, USNA, dated 1927, is. An Original, Vintage example and Rare to Find. This includes the coat/jacket/tunic and Button-Fly pants/trousers. Marked Size, but the jacket actually measures approx. 19″ from armpit to armpit and 21″ from top to bottom, with 32″ x 30″ pants. This appears to be in Very Good, Crisp condition, with No Mothing. #2595 – 4.5. David Frederick O’Neill enter served as a Naval Aviator during World War II and retired a Major General in 1958.
