Here is a wonderful WW1 USMC painted helmet. ID’d to Thomas E. Lee who was a member of the 69th Guard Company, 11th Regiment, 5th Marine Brigade, AEF. He was at Camp Pontanezen, France from what I can tell. Stunning color artwork with crossed American and French flag, large EGA to front along with German style tortoiseshell camo design. This is 100% guaranteed to be real, and is one of the most attractive Marine Corps painted helmets we have ever seen. It is pictured in full color in Alec Tulkoff’s wonderful book: Equipping the Corps. It really is a centerpiece in any USMC or Great War helmet collection. Never before offered on the open militaria market. The item “Stunning WW1 USMC Trench Art Painted AEF Helmet ID’d to Marine EGA artwork” is in sale since Friday, March 16, 2018.
