Nice condition Came from estate collection I do not clean anything, comes as found (I leave it up to the collector) Good wood the scabbard is tight very sharp butcher side A couple small dings on the scabbard, but not too bad. Overall it could use some preservation, but this is pretty nice if you like a little patina. The item “WWI German Butcher Bayonet Move-Werke Walter & Co. It has a beautiful burgundy color throughout, with minor scuffs and scratches. The stitching is tight and appears all original. A very elegant holster thats almost 100 years old! Per Jan Stills Luger Forum site, it is believed the Crown signifies the corresponding Bavarian Army Corps. These holsters are almost all dated 1918 or undated, so likely produced near the end of World War I or just after. There were three Bavarian Army Corps Districts (I, II, III). The range of numbers under the crown, found on the holsters reflects the range of Bavarian Army Corps Districts (I-III) and lends credibility to the theory that the Crown/number indicates the Bavarian Army Corps. It has a very crisp FRIEDRICH BOTTGER EISLEBEN/1916 makers mark on the inside flap. Stitching is tight & appears all original. The inside tool flap is present & functions well. The holster is in very good condition overall. It has some minor scuffs and scratches. The belt buckle strap shows the most of amount of wear but isnt torn. I dont see any extra holes in the holster. The color is pretty uniform throughout. The toe and mag pouch maintained their shapes and are both fairly clean. Just an original, honest holster with minimal wear over the last 100 years! If paying by personal check, I will hold for 7 days until the check clears. See my other listings. German Luger holster – marked with Crown/III Bavarian Army Corps – beautiful burgundy color. German Staghorn Grip Fighting Knife. This fighting knife was made during the German Imperial era and used through WW2. The blade is constructed of die forged steel which was lightly sharpened over time. The hilt, flashguard & pommel have a black finish. The blade of this knife is 6- 1/8 inches long (156mm), single edged with a false edge that runs back about 1/3 of the way. The blade exhibits slight graying on its surface (photos 3 – 7). The black painted steel scabbard is the typical fighting knife type that tapers towards the tip (photo 10). It is constructed of steel and retains over 85% of its original black paint. The upper reverse of the scabbard has a brown leather hanger and belt loop. The hangar is retained to the scabbard by steel rivets. The leather is in excellent condition and the snap clip still works (photos 1 – 2). The male portion of the snap retainer clip is missing some of its surrounding leather and was repaired in the distant past (photo 11). The staghorn styled grip is 100% intact and held in place by steel rivets with dressed heads on both sides. This knife is a very fine, and rarely seen, Imperial Bayonet Knife.
