RARE USMC officer’s miniature medals group 1920s-30s Caribbean Expeditions
This is one of the most RARE maybe unique? Miniature-medal groups I’ve ever collected (acquired in the late 1990s/early 2000s): it’s to a US Marine Corps officer (note absence of a Good Conduct Medal), and reflects service from about 1914 to the early 1930s… And all in the Caribbean or Latin America! The six medals you see here reflect virtually everything the US Marine Corps was operationally committed to (with occasional heavy combat) in this region, from the pre-WWI landing at Vera Cruz, Mexico to the last campaign in Nicaragua. This group was definitely worn many times, as witnessed by the honest wear on the suspension ribbons. Take a good look at all the photos… I always find those little pendants “talking to me” as I imagine this officer’s probably arduous and dangerous service. What a great piece of Marine Corps history!
