Very good condition and guaranteed original US Model 1905 bayonet. Marked RIA on the left side of the blade and dated 1919 with a flaming bomb proof mark. Right side ricasso is marked US with a serial number. Blade has nice original blue metal finish. Remaining metal finish is mixed plum brown, brown, and gray. Grips have added varnish finish. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in an original Model 1917 Enfield leather scabbard. This was considered an acceptable substitute during WWI. Leather shows some wear, stitching and rivets are nice and tight. A scarce RIA 1919 M1905 bayonet for your collection. This is a very nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a well made grooved, machine made blade that measures 26 5/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with just some minor surface blemishes. The fabulous large D-guard is beautifully detailed and although has one very small stress crack to one edge, does remain tight and sturdy as well as is wonderfully enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The pretty white rayskin covered hilt remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. The plated metal scabbard has a single ding but does remain in very nice, serviceable condition. Overall measuring 37 1/4 inches in length. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. This is a nice U. Marines Corps Regulation Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful blade that measures 29 3/8 inches in length which remains in nice condition with lovely etching on either side as well as is engraved with the name of the original owner on one side. The gilded brass guard is simple in design and remains in good condition with just some wear to the gold finish and frames nice composite grips that have now richly mellowed with age and remain tightly in place. The metal scabbard wears nicely detailed brass fittings and although now has some light oxidation to the plating, does remain in good serviceable condition with no dings.
