Very Rare Circa 1920s Chinese Republican WarLord’s Sword Saber (Dirk Dagger). Please Check back regularly for new listings of quality weapons. Extremely rare example of a very seldom encountered Chinese Republican sword variation dating from around 1920s-30s, belonged to a warlord of the Republican army, having gilt brass mounts with Foo Dogs carved in to both sides of the pommel and a large relief star to the guard among fine engraved floral decoratins, the grip retaining its fine sting ray skin and brass double wire wrapping intact. Wearing a sturdy straight single edged blade with deep narrow fuller to each side, showing wear to the nickeled finish with nice rich patina and multiple deviance of combat to the edge. Mostly solid and intact with micro play to the hilt mounts and in its original steel scabbard showing nice patina consistent with the age. Rare and exceptionally collectible weapon of one of the Chinese Republican army leaders. Overall 34 1/2 in scabbard. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog Open. A very rare find! For sale is a Rare version of a Polish Cavalry Sword wz 1921 or wz. 21, rare troops/NCO version. This Saber was produced by A. Mann, Warsaw (mark on the ricasso) and is numbered 9. On the back of the blade – extremely low number, one of the first ever produced!!!! The sword fits perfectly into the scabbard. Semi-relic condition wit extensive pitting to both hilt and scabbard. Scabbard has a couple of holes as pictured. The blade appears much better, with some dark spots and looks that it was period re-sharpened. Please judge for yourself the condition from the pictures. This USMC officer sword was made by the Lilley-Ames Co. Columbus OH and Retailed by The C. New London OH about 1938. I can date it because it has the phenolic grip and slotted head screws.
