Berndorfer steal-helmet, made by Arthur Krupp factory in Berndorf in 1917. This helmet was reissued by the the Czech or Hungarian army. Innerliner has been replaced, by the army at time, (cause of distruction of the old innner-liner or cause of hygiene purposes). The helmet is in a overall good condition, I got it from my friend Franz Thaler passed away in August. Lacking chin-strap , made of canvas. The helmet is stamped inside the neckguard with the little BEAR OF BERNDORF, the colour was scratched away. To liberate it, in the manner I could be seen, after Mr. Thaler overpainted the place with a clear lacquer to protect it against rust. It´s a nice and extremely rare helmet. Liner missing few tongues as visible on pictures but still very nice shape. Some surface rust on the beak. Easy to clean but kept as was found. This helmet was manufactured in NLD by “Artillerie Inrichtingen” and its shape differs slightly from its successor, the M34. It once had an Art Deco Bronze emblem representing the coat of Arms of the Netherlands. This helmet was refurbished for re-use by the Bescherming Burgerbevolking (BB) after the war. The green band stands for medical personnell. Rare production stamps in bowl and liner. A wonderful survivor, rarely seen in this condition.
