Original vet acquired German WWII Chained Dagger Parts including scabbard and blade. Text book example of a late war chained dagger parts, showing age, wear and some corrosion as seen in pictures. Scabbard is a later style “Type II” with nickel plated fittings and anodized body with a center mount having a more of a “rolled” or “rounded look” to the border edges as seen and described by Thomas Wittmann on page 141 of his book Collecting the Dress Daggers and Sword of the German… Blade is the original unmarked type which is always found on chained daggers. Blade shows heavy age and wear, but still having a perfect tip and threading is excellent. Extremely rare and very hard to find original chained dagger parts!! Don’t miss out on this one!!! This is a good example of a Japanese Army Officer Shin Gunto Sword that dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a hand-forged blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 11/16 inches in length. The blade, although shows forging flaws along with some light scratches, does remain in nice condition with a lovely actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears one hole and is unsigned. All the very nice fittings have also survived well, including the very nice substantially weighted tsuba and the hilt wrapping is tight with only a little fraying. The metal scabbard reflects battle fatigue with scuffing and a couple of hits near the drag, nevertheless does remains in very good servicable condition. Overall measuring 39 5/8 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a Japanese Army Officer Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a beautiful hand-forged blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 27 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with a lovely actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side. The tang wears two holes and is unsigned however, there are a couple of light hand scratched characters that were added in recent years that could easily be removed. All the fittings have also survived in very nice, clean condition. The metal scabbard also remains in very nice condition. Overall measuring 40 1/2 inches in length. This is a very nice example of a World War II Japanese Army Shin Gunto Officer Sword mounted with a large and hefty grooved, hand-forged blade. This very fine Shin Shinto, unsigned blade wears a cutting edge of 27 1/2 inches in length and from tip to tip it measures 36 1/8 inches. The grooved blade wears a visibly beautiful actively wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side and remains in very nice condition with only some very minor surface pitting spots on the cutting edge that could be remedied in the right hands. The Sword wears high quality Army Shin Gunto Regulation Mounts which also remain in very nice, clean condition. The Regulation metal scabbard remains in superb condition as well.
