This is a gorgeous example of a Japanese Shin Gunto Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II that is mounted with an ancestral signed blade. The late KOTO , early Shinto blade wears a cutting edge of 25 1/8 inches in length. The blade has survived in beautiful polished condition with just some minor surface blemishes and wears an impressive FULL TEMPER that is actively wavy on either side. The tang bears two holes and is signed which translates to Izumino? (two of the characters are difficult to decipher due to the aged tang as well as one of the holes). All the nice quality fittings also remain very nice and feature a lovely silver family mon that has been mounted upon one of the menuki. The regulation metal Army Shin Gunto scabbard is most likely in pristine condition as it continues to wear is leather combat covering that also remains healthy. Still present, is a blue and brown Tassel that although has lost most of one of the tassels, does remains nice and with vivid color. Overall, the Sword measures 38 inches in length. This is a good example of a well made Japanese Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a lovely arsenal blade that wears a cutting edge which measures 26 1/4 inches in length which remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface blemishes and a few light scratches on one side. The tang wears the signature ” TAKAMASA saku” on one side and a date that translates to “Showa juhachinen nen kugatsu (1943, September) ” on the other side. All the fittings including the wrapping remain very nice and clean. The metal scabbard also remains in nice with just a couple of tiny dings. Overall measuring 40 5/8 inches in length. US Navy Dress Uniform – WWI era to pre WWII. This complete set includes the gold fringe epaulettes, bicorn hat, sword belt, hat and epaulette box, and dress jacket (owned by a different officer than the epaulette set). It also includes the dress sword, although newer but correct regulation sword. The initials of the navy officer who owned the hat, epaulettes and belt is on the box. The bicorn hat and epaulettes were standard uniform for officers pre-WWII. Although complete, this is an example of a Soviet Russian Cossack Shashka Sword P 1927 that is now in relic condition. It is mounted with a slightly curved blade that measures 30 3/4 inches in length which remains in poor condition with heavy pitting near the tip however continues to wear some markings as well as is dated 194? The hilt has a grooved wooden grip that remains healthy and tight and the brass fittings are now deeply patined. The wooden scabbard is metal fitted, also in poor condition but is still mounted with its rusted Mosin-Nagant bayonet. Overall measuring 38 1/8 inches in length. Excellent condition and guaranteed original pre WWII Japanese army Type 32 sword that is the Otsu model with a 30 ½ blade. Issued to all NCOs and men in the Military police and transportation corps, and all master sergeants in the infantry, engineers, and artillery. Sword is complete with matching numbered scabbard. Has the Tokyo Arsenal marking on the blade and dated Taisho 15 for 1925. Blade has beautiful original bright finish and still has original leather washer at the base. Remaining metal finish is original blue showing light wear. The finger loop has been removed. Wooden grip has original finish and no damage. Scabbard latch functions fine. Matching numbered steel scabbard has nice original blue metal finish showing light wear and a few dents. A really nice Type 32 sword with matching numbers! It is constructed with a black woven linen strap, a large solid black knot along with the woven thread slider. It has survived in very nice original condition. This is a very nice example of a Japanese D-Guard Army Officer’s Kyu Gunto Sword. It is mounted with a well made grooved, machine made blade that measures 26 5/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with just some minor surface blemishes. The fabulous large D-guard is beautifully detailed and although has one very small stress crack to one edge, does remain tight and sturdy as well as is wonderfully enhanced with a silver family mon on the backstrap. The pretty white rayskin covered hilt remains very healthy and continues to wear its original twisted wire wrap securely in place. This is a nice U. Marines Corps Regulation Sword which dates from the World War II Era. It is mounted with a beautiful blade that measures 29 3/8 inches in length which remains in nice condition with lovely etching on either side as well as is engraved with the name of the original owner on one side. The gilded brass guard is simple in design and remains in good condition with just some wear to the gold finish and frames nice composite grips that have now richly mellowed with age and remain tightly in place. The metal scabbard wears nicely detailed brass fittings and although now has some light oxidation to the plating, does remain in good serviceable condition with no dings.
